Really Advanced Setup

Has anyone got this mod working on Linux? I have tested a few other mods and they seem to be working although this mod crashes the game on entering the advanced setup menu. Any idea why this might be? I might look into this but I have little experience with Civ5 mods.

Would it be possible to add into RAS the ability to allow a selection of the colors and or the civilization icon you want to use for your country?

@flamesfault: I'll be releasing a new version soon. The added a lot of new error checking to this version so there's a chance that it MIGHT solve your problem.

@abj9562: I'd have to look into to it to make sure but I think that player colors and icons are controlled by data from the XML files. If that's the case then any changes made by my mod would cause conflicts with mods that change the same data.

Beta test version 10 is now available. The link is located at the bottom of the first post in this thread. As mentioned in the first post I recommend that you disable all other mods and clear the Civ5 cache before testing.

At the moment there are no know bugs in version 10. However I made a LOT of improvements and changes so there's bound to be at least of few (and maybe more).

There are two types of help within version 10.

1. The standard type of messages that appear when the mouse pointer appears over an object. For the most part these appear when hovering over the name of the object. Not the object itself.

2. List help. This is more detailed help that appears within the lists on the Civ Bonus and Map Bonus panels. This help only appears when a list is empty.

So if it could work, provided the mod user is smart enough to know if a conflict arises they should not change the colors or icons?

General: I noticed the above posts... in a game with mulitple civs doesn't the 2nd copy get brand new colours with same icons, just re-colored? I think that'd be an amazing next step for this mod.. it would let people play a china with red/yellow, or Russia with red/blue etc.

I would think that would be the best addition yet since no nukes lol

seems stable so far, but I only had very quick go of it last night.

Alright general I tried version 10 and whats not working for me is no way to turn on free tech like gold and faith. I still cant change the map type or length of game. When troops are selected only a handful show up not what was assigned. Visiblity is at ten with no way to change it. so far thats as far as i got into it.

@Resurrection: Thanks for the input.

@bladewing: What version of the game are you using? Is the Map Type menu empty. Why can't you change Max Turns? Why can't you change visibility? The visibility stuck at ten doesn't seem to make sense. Are you saying the slider is stuck at 10? Sorry for all of the questions. I'm just trying to figure out why you are having all of these problems.

I know im using an older version of the game version 6 still works for me havent tried 7 or 8 yet.
Map type and length is empty.
the slider for visibility doesnt change from 10 even after sliding it back and forth.
It doesnt show any active civs either.
version 3.18
i tried a game with 40 xcoms 10 each great mercs and engineers settlers and workers with 5 battleships and destroyers. only ten xcoms showed up with 8 ships one settler engineer no workers and 10 merchants.

no problem general just trying to help if its my issue then sorry for all the hassles.

When I picked 8 Civ I couldn't choose after 6.it was stuck on random.

Also there's issues with the uu and ub window not updating correctly

Thanks. I'll look into it.

@Resurrection: Thanks again for the heads up. The problem with some of the Civ Panel menus and buttons appearing blank has been fixed in version 11.

testing now. looks good so far!

i think my biggest request right now for this mod are
1) choosing civ color for yourself and other ais
2) choosing to disable certain wonder
3) choosing max and min distance of wonders from civs

Request number 3 is already available by using the Wonders list in the Civ Bonus panel.

It's up to you. It can apply to all wonders if you want it to. Just don't use the Map Bonus Wonders list (which randomly places natural wonders across the whole map). Plus you would need to check the Disable Other Wonders check box in the Map Panel (which disables all natural wonders not created by my mod). If you do those things then the only natural wonders created would come from the Civ Bonus Panel.

The only exceptions would be Rock Of Gibraltar and Great Barrier Reef (if they happen to be created outside of my mod) because they are ignored by my mod.

I currently don't disable them because my mod can't place them so they would end up never appearing whenever Disable Other Wonders is checked. Maybe I should change that and just disable them when Disable Other Wonders is checked anyway?

What?

I think he's just confused on how the wonder thing works. I'll admit I am too. It's not terribly clear how the wonder section works. I wasn't able to set max or min distance and I also saw King Solomon's mines when I thought I didn't include them
