This is from a quiz whose like was recently put in a post on these forums. Talk about coincidense.

I did 127 on the "normal" test, skipping the "layout" questions which required some time to answer.
However, considering that for a lot of questions the main issue was how long I was prepared to spend thinking about it, I cannot take this test seriously. And some of the "verbal" questions were purely vocabulary questions which cannot have much to do with my IQ.

I am somewhat sceptic of this test' value, on top of the fact that an IQ is a rather poor way to judge intelligence ;)

Omg, that culture fair iq test was difficult. Especially those last few questions were almost impossibly hard to perceive. And I got 156 from one of Mensa's tests, but this one gave a lot lower score. Maybe the test for exceptional intelligence is even harder? I'll probably post some results if I dare to try it...

Interesting, but I concur with Kinniken : the IQ test is rather about attrition and how long you keep it up before just skipping the "unfolded pattern" questions (which get pretty boring quickly).

It's more a test of endurance than intelligence :)

134 in the end, despite skipping the layout and language tests.

Either I'm a genius, either I was VERY lucky when answering randomly, either the test isn't very accurate :)

And guess what ? My "high score" allow me to be lucky enough to be part of the "International High IQ Society", for a modest 60 $ fee :D

This IQ test is obviously a bait.

Well done! Your observation and reasoning skills enable you to join the "International Very High IQ Society", for a modest 200 $ fee :p

I took the "ultimate" test (35 questions, untimed).

Got a 148 which apparently puts me in the top 1/2 of 1%. I'll try the really hard one later. Since I'm at work I can't concentrate enough to do the timed one, though I've heard those are a bit better since they test how fast you can figure certain things. I tried not to randomly guess, but there were a few that I've heard the answers before ("how much change can you have and still not have change for a dollar?") so I didn't really need to figure that one out.

<edit>
148 Ultimate
138 Verbal

142 (in the ultimate test)

And it tells me that the reason I may have answered some of the questions incorrectly is because of lack of sleep.

yeah, um... it is the end of the day and all that... :D

<edit>: The reason I think some of these tests are at least partially incorrect is because some questions are impossible to answer unless you know some trivia.

for example that question where the difference between numbers is a fibonacci sequence. I mean come on. No one who have never heard of a fibonacci sequence ever will even think of looking for that pattern.

Don't do the ultimate IQ test... do the one for exceptional intelligence phew it's hard! It's 25 questions and 15/25 is one of the top 10 scores ever! very difficult

Which question are you thinking about ?
Don't remember, and I think I was able to answer each one that included numbers.

Well, I do not know if everyone gets the same questions. But during the end I got a question where there were a string of numbers and you are supposed to guess what the next number is.

I noticed that the difference between the numbers were a fibonacci sequence and hence correctly answered it.

What I am wondering is whether someone who knows what a fibonacci sequence is has a higer probability of answering it correctly than someone who does not? If this is the case then these test scores are skewed by the knowledge of various numerical and other trivia that a person may know!

While I do concur that such tests can pretty much say that a 100 score person is not as intelligent as a 140 score person I wonder if they will be able to say the same about a 130 and an 140 person owing the above skews!

Well, I do remember a string of number that was :
2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, and I had to guess the next number.

Never heard about a fibonacci sequence, but found this question one of the easiest of the test (the one about giving change was a bit trickier ^^).

I took one look at that ultra-high IQ test and nearly crapped by pants. Out of the first 11 questions I figured out one. Then I had to quit.

The ultra hard one looks like that test Spock is taking at the beginning of Star Trek IV. (Not a trekkie, I'm just good with movie references)

I consider myself a trekkie, but cannot put a finger on your reference

Which movie, which scene are you talking about?
