With this in mind, I firmly believe that the Ireland question must be resolved at long last to bring further peace to our nation. We must re-engage the Khan and strengthen our alliance with our neighbours, who could become a strong friend in a mutually profitable relationship. Conflict with them benefits no one but the undertakers and our enemies, neither of whom need our help.

Now is the time for peace, calm and prosperity and I firmly believe that I have the reasoned judgement and the voice of sanity to bring these to fruition. Should I be victorious, I will seek out the most suitable people for my cabinet regardless of party to make sure that I leave as good a legacy as possible for the next President who will be able to expand our borders once more.

Can I be the Minister of Fanatics?

I agree about Ireland, we need to stop British People Killing british people. The New Government should clear up this question once and for all, to usher in a new era of peace in Ireland. :closed: But not the rest of the world. Also what do you think we should do about Robin and his Merry Men? I presume you would negotiate a cease fire and thus not need to send them there. :closed:

Hello people of england. I am here today to announce some things, some very important things. Last night, god spoke to me. He spoke of many things, but he also spoke of how the pope was an imposter. He spoke of the need for peace, but not for the needless ramblings of TW. He spoke that england, home of those who worship our great god, needed a change of heart. We needed a new leader, a man who could hardly be called a politician, but rather a man of peace, even if he is not so religious as others. This man's name is West India Man.

He also spoke to me of how the pope is NOT god's representation on earth. He says that we must speak out against this man pretending to be god himself. No more crusades! No more wasting the brave men of our country, of god's creation! As my final act as president, i declare england to be protestant, and to renounce it's catholic ways!

Now that that is out of the way, i must announce some changes, things i have decided to do. I have decided to create a new party, once again. This time, its focus will be more aligned with the man who should lead england, WIM HIMSELF! The party shall be called:

The Party of Peace

POP as it will otherwise be known, stands for an international peace and cooperation, and less focus on war on the frontlines, but a renewed focus on espionage so as to prevent such a disaster as war from occuring. We wish for more 'peaceful' expansion, as our cities are overcrowded. We should let some people venture out of our lands, just as their great ancestors did before them. There are whole continents out there for them to go! It is a new generation of people who must make england great, not through warfare, but through the peaceful expansion, through the building of great monuments, through the helping of the common man and woman.

To help with international peace, i wish to call an international conference, where hopefully all nations on the great earth of ours shall send a delegate to discuss certain thiongs, such as peace between all nations, aid to be given to less fortunate countries, and for the minorities to stop being opressed, among other things. This conference shall be held in washington DC if the americans shall allow it, as i find it to be the most neutral country we could find. If they decline, then i think england will permit for RY to host this great conference. I expect great things form it.

OOC: Go WIM! WIM for president! But on another note, why are cities starving? If you used my plan, then the whip should have been used to reduce the POP before it got out of control. Also, since i cant see the tech tree, what techs have we researched?

I support Irish independence as long as it comes with some diplomatic alliance and non-aggression agreement between England and Ireland including the KRF. Whether that's enough for the Khan I don't know, but its a very good deal which he would be wise to accept.

Regarding arya's new party, I think arya has proven within this turnset that he cannot be relied upon to act swiftly or reasonably when given a position of power (see the lack of a 2nd plan and the whole Ireland debacle).

Also, I doubt that he heard the word of god, as we all know that Pope Ravus is our lord's messenger on earth and I doubt he supports arya given his track record. I also question the legality of arya's conversion of the country to Protestantism despite his term having reached an end with the new elections having been announced. It is a disgrace to attack our Pope who has proven himself considerably wiser than this pitiful President, and to attempt to tear our country from its native religion and attempt a dangerous conversion which will cause further unhappiness for our people. Clearly arya does not have the interests of the people at heart, only his own.

Finally, he has shown himself to be a breaker of promises given his agreement to support my candidacy for this election in response to my winning the last election for him. To be honest, he very rarely stuck to the coalition agreement and only my desire to avoid internal strife in a time of multiple wars that I stuck to my side. I implore the voters to see through this sham and vote for parties of politicians who are trustworthy and prepared to work with people rather than force their ideas through regardless.

If WIM wishes to join that party and stand as a candidate, I would be happy to engage with him on the issues and show him how much the platform of this new party coincides with mine.

I also eagerly anticipate the Imperial party position to see if there is common ground also.

On the notes, the second one is obviously from the joker. We can count on the first one being from the actual khan.

On TW: The 2nd plan was caused by a combination of an internet connection that went out over break, and the fact that i underestimated how busy i would be over christmas, and the days preceding it so i was not able to fullfill the promise of a deadline that i had sent. Considering that we have had longer delays, i do not find this to be a large piece of evidence.

The ireland 'debacle' as you call it was only ruined when ravus had to send that letter to the khan. I had a whole plan laid out for the KRF and ireland, that included wiping out the vikings in one punch. I do not blame ravus, and i do take some responsibility for how it turned out, but seeing as how you werent even there, i do not think you have a right to talk.

I am still president until elections end, as always. It is a mere technicality, but yes i am still president. If i wasnt, then we would be leaderless during the election, which would leave us very vulnerable.

I never promised to support you. You took a leap of faith, 'assuming' i would support you. And to let you know, the president is bound in no way once he has reached office, except in declring EP which he needs certain things to happen. What i did was well within what i was allowed to do, as no agreement we may or may not have made was binding. As i remember, i didnt even waver from it. Please provide examples.

I support the pope, and reject this ridiculous "I heard the voice of God" nonsense. Our Lord speaks to us in many ways, but never will He order The One True Church to be broken. To say He would is to claim that He was lying when He said "I will be with you always".

I also question the legality of Arya's action, although that is not my strong suit. Can we get a ruling? these elections take less than a turn ingame, so...

The Ireland debacle was because you decided to push things too far and weren't prepared to swallow your pride in order to secure a peaceful solution and avoid the ridiculous position we are facing now. I may not have been in the meeting (although the Opposition requested that I should be - once again demonstrating your willingness to ignore all advice and run solo) I do have reliable information from many sources which state just how clearly you messed it up. To try and shift the blame also shows how you aren't prepared to stand by the consequences of your actions.

While you try and squirm a way out of our agreements by saying your Presidential powers negate it, you show again your unsuitability and untrustworthiness. You are clearly showing that you are prepared to say one thing to get in to power and then do something else once you have it. I can tell you now that I will not ever run in a coalition which has you as the Presidential candidate. I have lost my respect for you, and now this pathetic attempt to undermine our native religion which our own people founded is illogical and will only lead to your demise.

I implore the voters to see past this effort to conceal his actions under 'the word of God' and to send arya out to the political wilderness where he belongs and leave the reasonable, sane politicians of my coalition and the Imperial Party to clean up this mess and bring victory and unity to the English nation, not internal religious strife.

A grand alliance has been formed between the Imperial and English Socialist Parties! Together, we shall lead England and the world to a worker's paradise, overseen with gentle guidance from London. This is the beginning of a grand new era! For this election, I shall be the presidential candidate. I also invite NinjaCow to join us in our noble cause. Uniting the world will be a difficult task, to be sure.

As I have pledged before, Ireland shall have its independence. There is no reason why our two nations cannot be friends. Indeed, friendly relations between us is only natural. I would be more than happy to see this entire sordid affair put behind us so that we can focus our efforts on our true enemies.

At this time, I have no official comments on the actions of our departing president. I will have to see where he goes with this, if anywhere.

I am concerned about the rampant unhappiness in our cities. I can only assume that it is due to war weariness, but this will have to be confirmed. Peace with Arabia, though distasteful, is likely the best option. :closed:For the short-term.:closed: We have made great gains in the east, although our new holdings still lack the culture required to stave off the encroachments of our enemies. We require a bit of a breather to improve our infrastructure and refit our forces. When next we go to war, I will ensure that War Weariness will not be a factor.

Right guys, I will maintain my party and will continue my run as President, however it is clear now that this election is already pretty much decided.

I am annoyed with how things have transpired, and I was keen to run for President before things become heavier in workload at university and I possible cannot commit. It is also difficult when you do not support either of the major parties but want to make a powerful difference.

However, i can't let the lunatics have free run of the asylum so I will pop in and try and keep the voice of reason going. This is going to be a coalition with high power and with that comes high expectations and responsibilities, I hope it does not let us down.

Well, I didn't expect you to back me. Actually, I don't think we've heard from WIM for some time. Hopefully your candidate will show up in time for the election!

I withdraw my candidacy and hereby disband the Party to Restore Sanity.

I am taking a step back from this for a while now and I may return but only when there is someone around worth the effort of working with.

Do what you gotta do. Hope you decide to return, of course. There are ways to influence the course of events without being the President. Perhaps you could chat with LH to come up with additional ideas? Enjoyed having you around, even if our in-game policies clashed.

Be careful what you wish for guys with this coalition, this term is vital and unless we address our major domestic issues immediately, any attempt at further imperialism will destroy us.

Aye, hence the need for peace and re-consolidation. We must pursue a policy of Responsible Warfare (TM). Don't take too large of a bite, and make sure to chew thoroughly before swallowing.

Ah, though I do have to counter a point you made, TT.

We have finally reached the point where our war with Saladin has been won. We have broken a major power and reasserted our strength in the world with the supreme efforts of our military forces.

Arabia hasn't really been broken. Most of our gains have been at the expense of Russian or former Russian territories. The Arabian core is untouched, so I expect that they will rebound. Eventually. Fortunately, I have faith that England will recover more quickly and more completely. We're only a sneeze away from Industrialism, although that will present some of its own problems. Choosing which cities to receive Factories, and which ones to also receive Power Plants will require some careful consideration. In BTS, Power produces an extra 2 pollution (kind of annoys me, but that's what they did), so a Powered Factory is, what, 5 unhealthiness? Maybe more? But it will really enhance production in the right cities. Infantry are always, nice, of course.
