Guys, back off. Now. MathNerd just dragged Stringray to the computer, had him made an account, and post here. He's read the rules one time, and is super-confused. Give us(MN and me) 24 hours to sort him out. Until then, please don't PM, VM, or try and convince him to join any parties ATM until he gets what the game is about.

Hey i put ONE post up about it. I fully expected him to join MN's party anyway, it was just a little bit of a sarcastic question. Doesnt EVERYONE ask people to join their party if gievn the chance? Cull, just chill and go explain it to him, or you can let him figure it out on his own like everyone else. just try not to indoctrinate him okay?:p

Thank you, Cull

Narrative of the battle coming tomorrow. THAT was excruciatingly furious.

Welcome to the madhouse, Stingray:lol::p You get the easy job of voting, running for office and debating with people.

I, on the other hand, get to be the poor, underappreciated game host who plays the game and attempts to ensure everyone has fun, the thread remains at least somewhat orderly and that no one cheats. Oh, and I also run around on the every whim of the people here gathering screenshots and such for their pleasure. :sarcasm:

You know I'm kidding, right?

- Lighthearter

Wait, you're KIDDING. Right? And while the thread is in a state of sleep/rest of the night, I officially vote for the NINJA-PIRATE PARTY, and hold my other in reserve. Yes, I sabotage. Yes, I'm a former president. Yes, I'm a former monk. Yes, I'm a Ninja-Pirate. So who want a coalition?

Yay. Now it was my turn to leave for a few hours and come back to four pages of stuff. Fortunately for me, it was mostly meaningless drivel.

Ilduce: Faith and Strength are not part of our Coalition (so your vote was wasted!), and I don't think they will join. Joe may be the listed leader, but I think that arya is calling the shots. Just my impression.

Guess tomorrow we'll see how valiant our forces were. Oh. And how effective they were, too. Hopefully they were lead to glorious victory! Or, at least, made the Romans pay for every mile they took. Still, feels a little "wrong" to settle a key battle outside the game proper.

Yeah, I don't think there's anything else to say at the moment.

No, your leader wanted to join the coalition until you convinced him to back out. He might reconsider

Now you are confusing me. Where does it list him as leader? T o my understanding (and how i treat party decisions) we are co-leaders, and you need a yes from both of us to effect the party. At the mkoment, i am actually the 'effective' leader, since LH has me listed as founder for some reason. I founded my own party and so did he, then we merged. So we are co-leaders, and co-founders.

Whosit is right, as i doubt we will join your coalition. I am still waiting for PM's to get online for him (should be tomorow. or today. depending on how you look at it and your time zone.) to get his opinions on everything. But behind the scenes stuff is going on right now so stay tuned.

Ilduce, I would have thought that you would have learned NOT TO SPEND VOTES RASHLY when it cost us the election last time. So Cull became president, and i waited for 30 turns. You still have much to learn, my former padawan...(evil laugh from a well meaning christian (IC) sith)...

I dont think I spent my vote rashly. I did it for MN stupidity for voting for the monks (twice)
Also according to LH (well the first page) the election hasn't started yet, so who knows, maybe I didn't waste my vote

I'm pretty sure elections have started. I just think that LH hasn't updated the front page yet. He's had a lot to do.

Ahhhhh I do like these moments when my time slot means that the thread slows down and i can relax and have a chance to catch up... Wait you are here too Ilduce? I thought it was just me? huh. Oh well break over and back to work. Still have 15 more pages to comb through.

Here are two amusing Nukeknockout quotes a few pages apart.

great, next thing you know, the Imperial Party will better suit me than the Modernizational Party *rollseyes*

becomes;

I hereby accept Whosit's invitation into the Imperial Party, and Dissolve the Modernizational Party. I promise to uphold our strengths and values, and to beat the crap out of anyone who dares to oppose England. For the Empire!!

@ Arya: You do realise if you had gone through with the duel and crippled Cull he only would have gone around in a wheelchair calling himself Professor C with his C-men (Seamen... pirates..) arn't you happy you didn't allow that kind of senseless pun-ing

@Cull: Bad Ninja! No wenches for you! Afraid i have to decline the coalition offer on my visitor page. probably would have gone for it if not for the sabotage. But i do have some propaganda stuff for you

Hmm by my count the last main players who havn't voted are Mechaerik and Gruekiller if he's still lurking. Looks like the LMP has a lot of swing this time around. Has it actually been officially confirmed yet if the LMP joined Aegis or if they are going to set up their own coalition?

OFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE FAITH AND STRENGTH

I find it strange how Ilduce has complained about the LMP being in the same coalition as him during the time of the CoF, and he even made it clear to me how that was a main reason of him founding Aegis, yet they are now part of his coalition again. I ask Ilduce to explain why this is so. I personally believe that he is a very unreliable leader, that will go back on promises, brand good men traitors, and ruin england in all its glory (that we have left).

Me be wanting to know about this too, argh. See, mate, you have to stay with your allies, like that one dirty wrench back when. Argh, never mind that. But even then, stick with your allies. Mr. IIIIlllddduuuceee, me thinks that you're a back-stabbing traitor, if you care. ARGH!!!

"They'll be coming down the road from the château first," Athers said, drawing a line on the map with his finger, "After that they'll likely split into two separate forces and try to enter from the north-east and the south."

"What do we have?" Lord Whosit asked, leaning in over the map. Athers pulled another one from the rack beside him. It showed the city of Ravus-York.

"We don't have a wall, just a moat that the people have been digging like crazy. It's only six feet deep, and while we're putting sharpened stakes in it, well, it's not going to be enough. We have about twelve companies of soldiers and the Night Eagles in place to defend the city, compared to almost three times that number of Romans."

Whosit blanched. Athers wasn't feeling too good himself at those kind of numbers. The lord assigned to defend France stared moodily out of the tent. "What plans do we have to hurt them?"

"Well, we have our raiders along the road, for one. We also have the citadel-"

"That thing was built when the city was founded. It isn't modern and won't stand up to concentrated fire from catapults."

"It's all we've got in the way of REAL fortifications. We can put archers there to pound the enemy as they advance up the streets, but we'll need more then that to stop them. We can try to put up a protective screen around the citadel, but I think that would hurt us more then the Romans. After all, they have the numerical advantage."

"You'd recommend pulling back to the citadel proper, letting them break on the walls."

"Nothing so optimistic, my lord, but in spirit, yes, that's exactly what I'd do. If the walls of the citadel are breached, we can still fall back into the main fortress and try to retreat through the escape tunnels."

"You've blocked almost all the tunnels with your little surprise for the Romans, Captain Athers. I fail to see how our guys can get out around all your materials."

"Well . . . I guess we just have to hope."

Whosit shook his head angrily. "I will NOT use that plan you cooked up back in England with Lighthearter. Simply - NO. You would ravage more then the Romans!"

"I know, my lord, but we may have no other choice."

Whosit muttered something and looked up at Athers across the map table. "Athers, give me a worst-case. We lose Ravus-York. What can we expect?"

"Worst worst case or realistic worst case?"

"Hmmm . . . worst worst."

"Well . . . we lose all of France, the Romans use their Preatorians to smash through the Pyrenees and ravage Iberia-"

"About what I'd expect from the parliament speeches lately."

"I'm getting to that." Athers felt a cold chill gnawing in his stomach. "It gets worse. If we lose, then the Christian block attempts a coup - and the Romans invade England."

Whosit stared at Athers for a long while. "And how realistic is that assesment, Captai-"

"Lord Whosit! Lord Whosit!"

The lord turned and took the sealed envelop from the runner and opened it. He scanned it, then paled again. "Tomorrow." He said to Athers. "They'll be at Ravus tomorrow."

OOC: We're gonna have some fun now, kiddes!

- Lighthearter

Dez going to be fun, even more fun than it. ARGH!

OOC: Can you include me in to something the next time you write? It seems like I only gather attention when I sabotage these days.

If it hasn't been made clear yet, LMP is officially a member of Aegis. If they have unused votes, all the better for us!

Maybe if you were a noble defender of law and justice, you'd get more screen time. :mischief:

I enjoyed the story, LH, and not just because I was in it. C'mon, looks like I'll need to channel Ender here .... Too bad I'm not nearly that. Hmm. Ha ha ha. If only there was some way to lure Roman troops into that Citadel even as we evacuate our own, and then collapse the building on top of them. Though that's probably not awfully feasible prior to the discovery of gunpowder.

Edit:
How big is the Roman army? How big is ours? What are the Unit types for each?

I don't think it matters. Arya has asked LH to play a battle in a completely different game, so I think that LH is taking full artistic liberty with the battle for Ravus-York. I could be wrong though.

In-game terms, though, it sounds like they have forces (somewhere) numbering about a dozen, and we have, like, a couple of Archers.
