On the sharpeye quoting, well they did say they needed peace. i dont want to make peace with rome. They will be gone totally soon. shouldnt we get as much of their empire as we can? So i support whosit keeping EP a little longer if it means more land taken from rome. DO NOT make peace right now. We cant let rome be a vassal to russia, and we cant let russia take italy and germany.

Whosit still needs to announce the relinquishment of EP on the thread before elections atrt.

I was never a terrorist until you labeled me one. I am sorry Ravus, that you misunderstand my actions so. But there is a thing called forgiveness too. people had no problem forgiving Cull and letting him be part of the admin (and have an importnat part too). The same happened to me (kinda). But you have to learn that this is a game, and not to take things so seriously as if this decided things in RL. I was violent in bewteen elections because i disagreed with aloit. I still do. But that was just a phase of things. Im back to what i was. A politician that will do what needs to be done.

Just to make sure you know what your talking about in the future:

I didnt 'abandon' my unit. I left it in command of a perfectly capable officer under my command. I left to do something that needed to be done. Nobody was taking real action against the copperheads. So i did something. And it was working. It wasnt my fault it was killed. They still had the skills (promotions) i had giuven them.

I would like to correct you on the war. Whosit may have been the president at the time, and he may have vetoed a plan or two of mine, and he may have had a hand in helping the war effort in ways out of my control (unit builds and such), but i am the one that created the plans that led us to victory. I created trhe plans and sent thenm to whosit. Except for the veto action, they were barely modified. So i have every right to claim a significant portion of the credit for reatking RY and taking antium.

Alright, it seems that I have much to comment on.

As agreed, now that Ravus-York and Antium have been taken, I will relinquish Emergency Power (come to think of it, I'm not sure that I've even used any of the special abilities). However, now that the Copperheads have stepped up their actions from protests to abduction and impersonation of ranking officials, I request that the party leaders convene once again to consider if Emergency Powers are warranted until the Copperheads are brought to justice.

If I understood Lighthearter correctly, elections will not begin immediately, because a full 30 turns have not passed since the last election, but if EP is not restored, they will begin normally. I still wish that the Copperheads can be dealt with with minimum violence. So long as I remain president, I will not tolerate vigilantism. Arya, I am displeased with your actions. You abandoned your post to pursue a personal vendetta. However, I will sanction your Zealots' actions so long as they agree to cooperate with Government soldiers. If not, they will be considered vigilantees and in violation of the law. I appreciate their sentiments, but we must act lawfully.

It seems that I have already addressed the second issue, but we must make every effort possible to track down the Copperheads, free MathNerd, and put an end to this apparant terrorist organization. Is this supposed to be a lesson in what happens when I show leniency?

The war: I would like to begin exploring our peace options, but it seems that we may have the option of pushing a bit further. However, we must remember that our eyes are often larger than our stomachs. If we move in any direction, I feel that going through Germany and seizing Neapolis and Cumae would be ideal, and there we stop. Central Europe offers fertile grasslands and abundant rivers that will form a financial backbone for our empire. It also opens up the possibility to settle a city further to the north (there are some fish there) as well as give us the chance to project our power further east. Italy has some decent land, but not nearly as nice or as well suited for commerce. It also looks like a dead end to me, and Rome may feel cultural pressure from Carthage. I welcome comments on this. If the war is to be continued, we should limit our objectives so that we do not saddle England with debt and maintenance costs.

CaesarPlayer: I am sorry to hear that you are leaving the Imperial Party for arya's new Joker party. I respect your decision, but you will always be welcome back here.

LH: Wasn't option 2 "crack down, lose 2 pop, and have unhappiness?" I would have chosen the option to spend a little cash and minimize the penalty. If you've already made the decision, I'm not sure what's left for me to do. Also: Have Birmingham build a Work Boat and reconnect the fishes before it starves! Heroic Epic can be finished later.

Also, i have full right to leave my post at any time and delegate that post to a subordinate as i am head of the military and since that is true, then i can choose whether to be on the front or to go to london and hunt down some people.

Just because it is a personal 'vendetta', as you call it, doesnt make it wrong. If i hadnt done that then the copperheads would still be at large. But now, i have almost eliminated their leadership, and they are on the brink of collapse with only 2 council members left and the leafder fleeing.

30 turns have been played. Since you have given them up, you cannot ask for EP again, since elections should start soon. As soon as LH says they are, which should be soon.

*chuckle* it's not so much about forgiveness as about forgetting though yes? While i could forgive you quite easily that isn't the problem. The problem is that you are now the 'boy who cried wolf'. You performed actions in the past to break and damage the nation in the game for little reason. You then demanded power or you would continue to do so. What is to stop you doing it again? That is what is the question. You have proven yourself a violent person. So you may have my forgiveness... you do not have trust.

See what i mean about the not trusting thing? As whosit says either you submit to the authority of the government soilders and how they wish to deal with it or you will be a vigilante. At least when i was planning to be a vigilante i was going to turn myself over to the government afterwards to show deference to the fact i broke the law.

Afraid you will have to do more to convince me, a innocent opposition member like me has no idea how those plans were formed. From the public discussion you kept going for extremist options and trying to overexpand the front and not respecting simple tactical things like supplylines, fallback points and so on.

Sorry but you know how it works Arya. The President gets all the blame and all the praise. It doesn't matter if it's true or not. You get praise for infrastructure and the blame for the defeat at Ravus-York. Whosit will be remembered for allowing deals with a terrorist and defeating the romans. It's how the human mind works*shrug*

It's a saying. It means when you took extremist actions and ignored everyone you basically told them through actions that their opinions did not matter to you. Arya was right and the world was wrong. It did not cross your mind that Arya could be wrong and the world was right. It's politics. People remember when they were ignored and burned.

On the EP and Election
So from my understand the EP has been released but Whosit would like a public vote on wether to continue it for another 30 turns or so on. Or to start elections now correct? That seems fair and legal. Although as Arya says LH will have the final say on the matter.
