I was just wondering: how do you found state religouns? All it says in the manual is you can found state religouns, I can't find anything about it in the cilvlopedia and I've played around with the city screen ect. with no outcome. Anyone care to help me out?

You don't need to research any technologies. You have to have at least one city with the religion that you want to select as your state religion. If you do found one of the religions then you can select that as your state religion. But before selecting a state religion check the state religions of the other civs since religion is one of the biggest tools to either create tension between civs with different religions or to make friends with civs with the same religion

to pick a religion that you already have in a city, as your state religion, you do that in the religious advisor. there's a button on the screen but i use the F7 key to get there.
when you hover over each religion at the top of that advisor screen, it shows you which cities would benefit if you pick that religion as your state religion. you make your decision by clicking up top and then i think "convert" is the word at the bottom of the screen.
religion changes follow the same rules as civics switches, 1 turn of anarchy if you're not spiritual, 5-turn waiting period to change it again whether you're spiritual or not.
