Renewed "Napoleonic Europe" conquest

It is good!!!!!!!!!!
but it is only useful for the UPGRADE of janissary

You know, after extinguishing the janissary troops in a bloddy fight in the beginning of 19th century, the sultan set up a new model infantry, like that in the picture.
where did you got that photo?

Which foto do you mean? :) I thought I had referred you to Straczynski's unit in the unit forum. :) Did you see also Smoking mirror's unit?
Unfortunately, I don't know too much about the units in the Napoleonic era, but I am beginning to get very interested in that era. You seem to know a lot about it, so I am very interested in your opinion.
Btw, what do you think about the civIII civilopedia on of the Napoleon Conquest? It's a bit "thin", isn't it?
Perhaps you could expand the civilopedia a bit with some profound information? Well, it's just a thought and if you have too much to do ... But I would really appreciate it! :)

In fact I am a historian, I work as researcher in museum and a scientific-political institute.
but i know about the napoloenic era only what i studied in the university, although i read a lot about the first half of the 19th century.
where are you from? poland?
anyway, I would like to expand my knowledge in modifying Civ3 files, but i am still at the beginnig :(
As fast as i know more about the file system and the script i update civilopedia. you know, it seems to be a kind american-made story. :)

K.F.Huszar, I appreciate that you know so much! You are right with the "american-made" history. ;)
As to the civilopedia text, I think that would be a good starting point for a first update to the scenario. It is in the Text-folder and you can add additional text to the textfile in the specific location where Fireaxis has already written something. Well, you will see it when you open the text file. :)
Btw, do you think you can work on BeBro's version as well. I think I will only play that in the future as it has much more flavor than the original. (So you would add the historical background while he made some graphical changes. AS you will see, he inserted also a new tech). :) :)
I am really looking forward to your changes! :)

K.F.Huszar, which name do you think would be best for the unit Straczynski made? I wanted to add it to the scenario, but I did not know the proper name for it.
Thanks a lot! :)

after playing Age of Empires for a bit, i looked up janissaries. they were elite slaves that were trained from birth for a special army. a good idea is to make them not cost unit support. since they are slaves.

CellKu
Straczinski's unit is good as "Ottoman Infantry"
they had several names depending on the unit's base, or on special event when the unit was formed etc.
They were much alike as their European rival units.

Bluemofia
Jannisaries were not really slaves like the black slaves in the USA and CSA.
But since the end of 17th century the janissary units became semi-voluntary units, so not only grown-up child-slaves were the members.
and through the 18th and begin of the 19th century, janissaries made a lot of trouble, because they were rioting for money - just like any "preatorian" guard is doing so in history after a while.

Is thre a german version too ?

Or are in this forum any german mods, scenarios or something else

Because to rename alll the folders and .ini's sucks!

I am not sure if there is a German version of the Napoleonic conquest here. I don't think so. Did you have a look at Bebro's mod?
As to mods/scenarios in generell: The only mod I am absolutely sure of is TET's mod. For version 2.0 of his mod he is looking urgently for some people who help translating his mod into German.
Perhaps, AK47's has a German version, as well, but I am not sure about that.
Actually, I don't understand why Fireaxis implemented a different file structures (an different names) for different languages.

I must get a couple of days off, because i need to be reloaded.
Now i haven't got a minute to turn on my home pc, only to continue working. it is rush here in my work place.
but as soon as i can i transfer bebro's mod home.
anyway, cellku, where are you from?
are you german?

I am from Austria, Vienna !

I have also made a mod by myself (+ 290 units + 40 Buildings + 30 resources + 7 govs + 20 techs + grafic mod from snoopy - of course all these things are from other people in this forum - thanx a lot - everything for german civ)

It works on ptw but i have severe Problems to implement it to c3c

If anybody is interested , i would , of corse with the permission of all the other people who made these great things i used in "my" mod. publish it here

Thanx a lot for your help

K.F.Huszar, I hope you got my pm. Looking forward to your next civ-related publication.

Dragonmaster, although I don't know whether there are many members who have a German version, your mod/scenario would always be appreciated - btw, I think yours is a scenario, since it seems as if you provide a map with cities and units already in place.

Dear CellKu

I have looked Bebro's scenario. There were two nice ideas, namely the Opera House and tech-tree modification.
May I use your turkish infantry men for the last version of my scenario?

CellKu can you please send a new pic of turkish infantry men's "unit 32" pic?
it was damged or something like. i could not merge the layer to my units_32.pcx! nor could i flatten the image.
please send another type of this pic.

K.F. Huszar, I would really like to help you here. The problem is: I didn't create the unit. Straczynski made it (see thread) and I am not very apt in creating graphics. :( I am sorry!! Perhaps Straczynski can help.
