Replacement(s) needed for 16-civ Rocky Pangea pitboss

Even if everyone duplicated their moves exactly, just playing in a different order would change things.

I got a minor event I didn't get last time (few food in my basket), and a barb I killed last time moved to a different tile. So killing it resulted in my unit not moving to the same place.

You mean whiplash (having taken over for Kaleb).. Or is someone not playing fair?

Anyway, the good news is that we have successfully got through 600 BC without any problems, so whatever the issue was, it appears to have been a one-off. So far everything is behaving normally this time around.

Whiplash: this is actually a pretty informal game, originally set up as a team pitboss for the Cavaleiros team in the Multi-team Democracy Game (although we have a few non-Cav players now, and a few of the Cav players aren't really active in the MTDG any more... )

Anyway, I think the closest we came to a set of rules is below. Regular pitboss sportsmanship and common sense, basically. Shout if you have any questions though. Also, just note that vassal states and permanent alliances are on.

No. A team was created to play in a different game (like a succession game, all members of a team sharing a civ, with a team for each civ in the game).

Then the teammates decided to start a game playing against one another on the side. Which is this game. So its a standard free-for-all.

If you have friends, its up to them to remind you. Or ask Kaleb.

USun - according to civstats, it looks like you were able to get back in and played your turn ok, after posting above?

According to civstats, Ras logged in after that and has been logged in for 17 hours now... Ras - what happened when you tried to log in? Can anyone else get in at the moment? Has anyone been successfully logged in simultaneously with oyzar or Ras before?

I'll be home in about 8-9 hours and will check out the server then if need be. oyzar - I'll reload to an earlier autosave if needed so you don't miss your turn.

Well, something was different anyway, I got a different result from a goody hut. Hard to replay exactly the same when your warrior is suddenly alive when before he wasn't.

I noticed. And didn't I tell you not to pop that hut? I can't complain much, though, that barb was forcing me to do something suboptimal, and now he's not there to interfere. All of which is to say, lots of changes visible for me, too (three actually), and all in my favor, as it happens.

@ Munro: I tried to log in just now and got stuck infinitely at the "connecting to host" screen.

Bah, my in-game communication skills need work. How do you send someone a message via the diplo screen when they're not logged in, without it getting lost in the ether?

Game's back up now. The pitboss app. had crashed. I've restarted from the autosave from Ras' login, with 6 hours on the clock and Ras, oyzar, Morgan and Renata still to play.

I left the game paused so everyone should get the chance to play. Please leave it paused after your turn until everyone has had a chance to play this turn (575 BC).

(Sorry Ras - you have to replay your turn I'm afraid).

Bring up the trade screen, type your message, and remember to press Enter.
It's not 100% reliable though so you're probably better using civstats if it's important...

Ok, great. Just oyzar left to play then for this turn (575 BC). oyzar - I've unpaused it for now so we don't have to wait for 6 hours after he's played.

(Unless Renata can log in, end turn, and leave it paused for oyzar, which would be even better).

Yes press the pause / break key on your keyboard. (You can also unpause the same way).

Using pause causes problems if the next person to log in has a diplo screen waiting for them, since you can't unpause (or even quit) from that window, when the game is paused. Hopefully that won't apply to oyzar here.

There's 4 1/2 hours on the clock still for oyzar to play, and he seems to be online right now, so in this case it's probably better to just leave it unpaused after you end-turn. I'll keep an eye on the timer to make sure he doesn't miss his turn.
