Report Questionable AI Behavior

- Added to these problems, AI does not try invasions of my homeland as usually did in previous ages (which was very interesting and challenging), only attacks sometimes with ships but stupidly, it seems to be like paralized.

I've noticed this in my most recent game with 1.75a (I can't install patch b until I finish this game!). The second large empire on my starting continent was running close to me in score and diplomatic relations were very good. Then he went secular and we each got some vassals that the other didn't like, so he decided to use his huge military advantage to destroy my vassals and, in doing so, declare war on me. The scoreboard in the corner showed a 0.4 strength ratio, so he definitely had the upper hand!

He sent one stack of units toward a city that was garrisoned by a handful of more advanced units. The arquebusiers annihilated his stack of units in two turns and then he never sent another. He had some ships bombarding my coastal cities to lower their defenses, but he never sent units to follow up. Bombard, bombard, bombard, bombard, bombard... I let it go for about 60 turns before I finally made peace with him, just to see what would happen.

He's since declared war twice more and done the same thing, only without the initial stack of units. All he does is bombard my cities with ships. It's very silly.

Thanks for the detailed report. I'll look into solving AI behavior in patch c.

No, thank YOU for your impressive work :goodjob:

Hope you can solve these annoying problems, it's very frustrating to play hundreds of turns, and when things could be more interesting, then the game becomes boring because the player superiority it's so huge than it has nosense to play, I could annihilate all AI factions in several turns if I use all the potential.

It's intriguing that at early stages of the game the AI it's really good, but in advanced eras seem to degrade.

I must appoint that changing difficulty it has no results, I change to maximum in mid-game and the AI got stuck anyway.

Regards ;)

Arrived at Transhuman era with me leading so strongly at turn 1092 of Marathon speed.
My Flexible Difficulty was set to max out at Prince difficulty. Next game, I go for King at max. :D

If you want it, go ahead and look around. Maybe find something new to fix .

Black UI and Formations were selected when I installed this game.

Ok a fresh start and looks like the khmer think it's a better idea to replace the jungle camp ( 6F 4G)
with a mine?? Yelds are modified by me, I know that could cause different behavior but really, replacing 6 food 4 gold jungle camp with a mine, that early in the game its silly

Hello! I'm playing a 1.75 game in emperor level, and AI works perfectly well until modern age... then I've observed those annoying problems:....

any update on this issue? im experiencing the same problems with the late game AI. it is really frustrating playing an extended length game only to have the AI wither away.

Bit of information for Afforess,
Karadoc's K-Mod is an AI improvement/Bug fix mod. He has been searching out and correcting Bugs and bad AI choices that are in vanilla BtS. Some of his fixes have been implemented in C2C by Koshling.

Small mod but the AI is better and getting better with each version he puts out.

Okay. I am planning a merge of the c2c Sdk tomorrow.

This is great news! I've been giving some of the problems a go but I'm defintely not you. Please don't forget to post the source code mighty one.

@Terradive,
If you have SVN you can get the updates as Afforess puts them in.
