It's fairly easy to calculate the amount of culture that your cities are adding to a plot each turn. But (unless you counted from the start of the game) you won't know the total culture accumulation on the tile by your cities and the total culture accumulation by foreign cities. You can only guestimate.

Well, you can calculate the culture per turn that a plot gets if you know the formula:

city culture per purn + 20*(city cultural radius - distance to city) [for each city that has the plot in its cultural radius]

Basically, you could obtain the information of how much total culture a plot has by adding the culture you produce every turn. It's kind of impossible to keep track of this manually (you'd probably have to be a savant to be able to do this), but the information is there theoreticallly. If you know how much culture you produced, and know the percentages in the plot, you can calculate the total and values for other civs.

I agree it's borderline knowledge, but the information can be obtained. I'd understand if you refuse to add the totals for that matter.

Ace

What about fitchn's Civilopedia Index?
It was a nice addtion to sevopedia for vanilla and warlords.

And, a little idea by me, a turn score difference addition:

Maybe you want to add this to BUG.
It adds the difference between this turn's score and the last turn's score.

Would it be possible to add a display to the production queue for how many turns until a paused building/unit will start to decay, if it's within a certain number of turns, and which items are decaying? We know the math, and we could count turns, but that's no fun. Something like:

[pre]Archer (8)
Settler (17)
Barracks (12) (20 turns to decay)
The Pyramids (45) (15:hammers: decay)[/pre]
So I've put the barracks and pyramids off for a way too long, the pyramids have started to decay, and that barracks is going to be there soon if I don't finish it.

That *is* a neat idea. If it has been implemented I have yet to notice it. If it is in the mod, would it also be possible to include it in the Alerts? Something like, "Barracks will begin to decay in the next turn."

And I'm not sure if this has been suggested before (probably has), but when you build a wonder which unlocks civics (Pyramids, Shwedagon Paya) you should get a pop-up notifying you of new civics. The reminder tool is good for this, but if an automatic pop-up were available it would be even cooler

Would it be possible to have Alt+M message boxes pop up after all other dialogs? I don't use the messages much, but I find that when I do I've sometimes forgotten what happened after I've dealt with all of the other nagging. >_>

I'd also love a "No, I don't open borders, and don't ask me again!" response, but I dunno if that's in the scope of the mod.

What about showing the general's image/button instead of plain text?

Yeah, I'm with you on the isolationist bastard part (no open borders). But yeah, that sounds to alter the game a bit...but I am also in agreement with the Alt-M request if it is possible.

I have considered an option for this and knowing others want it will raise it in my priority queue.

In the meantime, I highly recommend checking "Minimize Pop-ups" in Civ's normal Options screen (General tab, 4th checkbox down on the left). It would take far longer to explain the effect than for you to see it in the game, so just try it for a couple turns. You'll never go back. :)

Note: Posting your ideas to our Feature Request tracker on SourceForge increases the likelihood that they'll be implemented if they're reasonable.

Unfortunately, diplomacy and trading seem to be two areas that lack any real modability in Civ.

I'm trying to do this now, but Civ is being difficult. You can embed <img> tags into text objects to draw on screen, but it ends up shifting the image up too high and the text down too low:

Civ makes it easy to do things half-assed

My plan is to abandon using text and manually add the DDS image to the screen at the left edge of the bar. Then I'll just center the text in the remaining part of the bar and be done with it.

:salute: *raises hand*
I do have pop ups shut down as much as possible (turned off, minimized, whatever, I haven't touched Ctrl + O in a while). But when, for example a civ comes with a request or an AP/UN vote comes up on the turn the reminder comes it's not optimal for me.

Agreed. Also in the interim, the reminders that fired this turn are flashed at the bottom of the screen in place of "Press <Enter> to end turn".

I'm in the midst of totally revamping how alerts of all types are handled, including reminders. It may be a while before I can finish (Civ is being difficult, as usual), thus my pointing out temporary solutions. ;)

This is another thing. I know it flashes down there, but I rarely see it consciously. Is there a way that could make it more visible? Like green writing with a red frame or anything similarily ugly?

I'm in no hurry. You just released another version and already have tons of new stuff included in a future release. I'm really impressed. Good work boys :goodjob:

Here are two additions, I used in my Vanilla and Warlords Modpacks and also use in BtS.

One addition is All Eras Dawn Of Man Screen Mod by Jeckel.
Now the Dawn Of Man Screen shows up in every starting era.

The other addition is a Center Era Pics modcomp. I wasn't able to find a link to its orginal thread and also don't know who wrote this first.
This modcomp centers the era screen, which, in higher resolutions, isn't centered on screen.

----------

Btw, could you add more colours for the era display? The blue you use, isn't the best choice for my eyes ;)

But it doesn't show up when you load a previously saved game, isn't it? That would be rather annoying. :D

There are still some grey tones not in use. You can change the color at the options screen. But there could be some additional colors, that's right. Just make suggestions. :D

No it isn't showing up after loading a saved game :)

Something like bright blue, bright red, bright green, cyan and a few other brighter (and better readable) colours

Ok, great. :D

I found a list of some of the available colors: click

Maybe we could get rid of Gray and Dark Gray and replace them with some colors which have more contrast, like Orange and Pink.

What about these? The Era Screen and the centering are attached.
