With Sephi's Help, I have fixed the limitation with resources! With Beta4 of AND 1.60, you can add as many resources as you want!

That is all, carry on.

After extensive testing, it seems that this fix is only a partial fix. Adding more resources, while it appears to work on the outside, still ruins anything that uses the larger game font icons, namely the city bar. This why Healthiness and Happiness indicators were broken for a while in my beta's.

Sadly, it seems we will ever be able to add any more resources.

We may just have to invent a new way to do some of the things resources did, and remove some redundant or useless resources.. (Ancient Temple, I'm looking at you!)

Sweeeeeeeet! Now I might make an Automobile modmod, with an Auto factory, Modern Roads, and of course, the Automobile resource. :D

u gotz skilz!

Nice. Now my modmods won't be held back by features represented by resources... that is when and if i ever get around to it...

Well with this open I have lots of ideas for resources ...

I will think of some more later but this is a good start. :D

Well with this open I have lots of ideas for resources ...

Gives Resources
Weavers Hut = Clothing, Rugs
Tailor Shop = Clothing

I would not be against adding clothing as a resource, mainly since I can borrow some of the graphics from FFH2. However, I would need two things: Uses for Clothing (which is likely going to result in many dependency scripts) and a way to get Clothing into the late modern and future eras since the Tailor Shop is obsolete with Globalization.

(Off hand) Uses for Clothing:
+10% Production of Garrison (Uniforms)
+50% Production of Paramilitary Corps (Uniforms, Ammunition reduced to +50% Production)
Theater (and Theater UBs): +1 Happiness (Costumes)
Opera House: +1 Happiness (Costumes)
Shopping District: +1 Happiness
Chain Store: +5% Commerce

With new resources, let's try to be creative. Don't give them healthiness or happiness bonuses (unless they really must), come up with a new idea. If I need to add 2, 10 or 100 new XML tags for Resources, so be it. But resources thus far have been pretty much "plain" and "boring" in RoM. Do something original. Invent new modifiers. Because 9/10 times, I can add.

Also think trade. If every civ can produce the resource then there is no need for trade. Having said that a resource like "<insert civ here> pottery" would be a useful trade item egs Greek read/black pottery from the classic era, porcline from China and so on.

Scrolls - vellum (goats/sheep) or papyrus.

Which reminds me I want papyrus, clay (good quality) and linen/flax. Is there enough room on the map?

you may have unleashed the floodgates of hell o mighty coder

books- +x% research bonus cumulative +:culture:
electronics-+:beakers:cumulative +:hammers:cumulative (both static not %)
Newspapers- something to show dissemination of propaganda
Kevlar-gives a promotion to all infantry units vs. infantry units

that is all I can think of for now

@Dancing Hoskuld no room unless you are willing to force maps to generate more resources

Really? I figured after the election mod that the gates were wide open.

So cumulative Commerce and Yield changes? I can do that. As for propaganda, maybe a revolutions modifier? Of course, that makes them useless without Revolutions... Hmmm...
