I was so p**** off. I had quite the big continent all to myself. I get _one_ ressource of iron, which exhausts even before I build a road to it!
Then I had only _one_ salpeter which exhausts a few turn after I built a city next to it.
My only coal also exhausts maybe ten turns after I start building railroad! Had to wipe out the english with _infantry_ to get another one !! (no salpeter => no cavalry)
Last but not least, my only source of Oil also exhausts !!!! I had to plant a city on tundra on another continent.

Either I really got out of luck, or the AI purposedfully took all my strategic ressources off to balance my technological/land lead ?? :rocket2:

I got like 1/3 of the whole landmass, and just one strategic ressources of each sorts!! Plus they exhaust almost immediately!

That was really frustrating.
Did anyone get the same sort of miraculous exhaustion ?

Yeah. I tend to somehow exhaust my oil resources before I even start using them. In one game I exhausted all three (I was jubilant when I saw I had three) within 20 turns. It is irritating, but hopefully it doesn't happen every game. Probably just bad luck.

Bad luck I think. I only have one resource (iron I think) running out on me once and I have played a couple of games. Well, this has only made Civ3 all that more exciting cos of all these critical resources. If you want something easier, stick to other games. ;)

This has been one of the things I have been studying in my own maps. Generally, When I have exhausted a source with in a turn or two they find a new source for me. This and many other things seem quite random.

Yea ur civ will found a new resuorces eventually:P

Try not to build improvement on the resource might help?
