Aztec Battles:
"All blood to Quetzectle (sp?), all blood to Quetzectle!" The men were singing on the way to the village of Tentizt. A huge gathering of tribes to oppose the aztecs were again arising in this village, and the Jaguar troops of Tenochtlan were sent to ease the revolt.
It was like coming out of mirkey water into the sunlight when the warriors stepped into the village, and out of the dense reinforest. The light made their eyes squint for a second, but soon they adapted as they always had. When their eyes finally were back to normal, in front of them were 500 pairs staring back. Mayan spearmen, dressed in an green, feather fassion begin an assault on the small army of 200.
The unsuspected Jaguar warriors, though the most trained and ready fighters in the empire, had little time to put up a fight. While they succeeded in killing half of the opposing army, all but one of the Jaguar warriors died, allowing this stroy to be transmitted to the High Priest (Montezuma?).
The city of Tenochtlan was in chaos after word of such veteran warriors were on their way to Tenochtlan, and forty virgins were sacrifced to insure vicotry for the defense of the city. Most of the Aztec army was on campaigns in the same area the small scouting army was ambushed, and wouldn't be able to make it back in time.
The worry was for nothing. The 5,000 men strong city defense was able to easily repel the now 500 angry mobsters. Close to no Jaguar warriors were killed in the second battle. Now the Aztec empire had control of half of the enemy territory.
