I just got off restriction and i have some bad news.
I've been thinking.
That line is usually bad sign just in saying it. Anyways, my thinking and certain events at school and home have led me to one conclusion. To close RTOR NES 2.
I've weighed the pros and cons of closing it and there are unfortunately more pros than cons. Weighed against my earlier statements of RTOR being immortal and how i would continue it as long as possible are the below facts:
1. I'm tired. I just plain tired of this NES. I've updated god knows how many times for over half a year. Before I got on restriction, as some of you know, it was taking me more than an hour to update. That's just too much. I'm also tired of explaining, complaining, and some flaiming (it kinda rhymes!). It just isnt the way i want to spend the majority of my afternoon and evening anymore.
2. I have 3 research projects going on for 3 different subjects at school. This will take hours of my time.
3. I want to spend more time playing Civ3 and writing stories about them. I have been inspired by the Realms Beyond people and their exploits. Check it out here:
http://realmsbeyond.net/civ/
4. I'm tired of certain things about civfanatics, and i want to minimize my activity here.
5. My girlfriend told me to. This is a bigger reason than some of you may think. It wasnt the main reason though.
6. I found a new hobby. Some people call it fencing, I call sticking pointy objects into other people. (I like my name better) I was able to beat the local champ (i've only been doing this for a week) so i am assuming i have some talent. (this is florida, we have everything from fencing to surfing)
I have a possible new system in the works that may save me time when this is eventually reopened. If i can figure out how to make it work, I promise this will be my highest priority. For now though, I will be hanging around Realms Beyond and Apolyton working on stories and reports of my civ3 games, I'd appreciate it if you'd check them out.
I have 2 requests of all of you. First, I ask that none of you attempt to carry on RTOR 2 as it would just not be right. Second, I hope that a few of youwill carry on with your RTOR tales and stories and possibly write new ones of different civilizations you may not have played. THis way, even if I don't reopen it like i plan for the undeterminable future, it will still remain immortal through the tales of it.
That's all I have to say about that.
