Revival of Silence is Golden - Rat 36 (?)

Just to round off the thread for the lurkers:

I thought 25 seemed pretty high, but 5 is definitely a good finish. Once the armies start rolling they really roll. All in all an enjoyable game.

I like the random civ idea. If not that I advocate playing the Americans because, I can't even remember the last time I played them.

Edit: we could also play Lkendter world map with some civ like egypt or germany or rome.

LKendter's earth map is great, but on deity  silent game?

I would also like to play another one like this. Let's not exaggerate with the settings; I think we had a really good start, other civs on our continent did somewhat bad, and there was a lot of fighting on the other continent.

I would propose:
- a large continents map
- play as the Japanese or the Americans
- first start we get that is not horrible (i.e. only desert or only mountains or only tundra)
- not even sure we should leave out the GLib, but I'd be fine with that

I'm in for another game and like the idea of large continents, random civs and first start that's reasonable. With these settings I'd think we'd want Glib open but should discuss it.

I'd like to participate in the next one, but it'll be partial involvement, since my summer period of unavailability to play will begin around June 17. So I might get two rounds in if we start soon, and possibly rejoin the game in late July if it turns out to last a lot longer than this one.

I like the large continents/reasonable start idea. I'd be fine with a random civ, or the Japanese or Americans. I'd rather keep the option to build the GLib.

looks like we go for large continents. I will start this game soon.

I will also be unavailable during June for 2 weeks (from 12th June onwards). I guess during the summer, people might travel and games a little disrupted.

Btw, much of this could not have been done without our lurkers like Plarq and TheTrooper who were ship captains of our galleon fleet. ;)

:salute:

Il Capitano will watch from the shadows on your next journey too.

Congrats and thanks for naming a galleon after me...

Settings sound good to me.

However, I do have one request on making of the map. Could you create a scenario with no rules changed and then run it from that? I can't run non-scenario games that are not started on a vista machine. I think the issue is that my date is 64 bit instead of 32 or something like that - it crashes on the date.

However, I can play in a scenario or create a map for others that is a scenario. With no changes you get a standard game (may have to check the cultural victory total for non-standard sizes), but one I can play on both computers (the non-vista one is still down) just like I can play Rat37 because I made it a no-change scenario and Gr27 which of course is a scenario.

Rat37 was a test of this theory and it works.

I still vote Americans simply because I haven't played them much at all, but am flexible if others vote differently.

I'm good with the Americans since there's really no advantages for the human playing them. Getting a GA is really tough and there's no powerful cheap builds. I will be doing some travel along with weekends being pretty jam packed so a slower game is fine with me.

OK, let's play America for the added challenge. :cowboy:

Greebley, why don't you start the game then. This way we can be assured you can play it on your computer?

Simply call it Rat38 bla bla
