Revolution IOT

Edit: Oh bloody hell they actually moved this place. Free factories for everybody.

I like what I hear. It would go along very well with my reform/revolution RP.
How many?

A country attempted to sabotage the League of Urun! They failed.

War of the Nile and Cornwallian Rebellion

With League attention focused on events in the Middle East, Urun could not spare any armies to Europe, leading to Breton's fall to Cornwall this year in 1823.

However, the situation is far more fluid in the Middle East. The thirteen divisions of the Eyalet of Egypt crossed the border into Israel and Syria, pushing Kuwaiti troops out of Palestine and establishing contact with Roman forces on the new Roman-Egyptian border. A Urun counterattack reversed most of the gains from the offensive however.

-3 Egyptian Armies
-3 Urun Armies
45,843 casualties

Knights of Cyprus Last Stand

The Knights of Cyprus, tried as they might, could not hope to stand against the Roman Empire.

-1 Roman Army
-Cyprus annexed
13,447 casualties

War of 1823

War erupted across North America as American and British troops poured into Vermont, and as British troops poured into the American Midwest and, with audacity, attempted a landing in Washington DC.

Fighting in the Midwest was rough and both sides were numerical equal. Fortunately for American forces, better leadership and the homefield advantage won out in the end. American forces launched a bloody counterattack into British North America that saw two territories change hands in Illinois.

-3 British Armies
-1 American Army
28,497 casualties

The same story played out once more in Washington DC. British regulars landed unopposed at sea, but faced stiff resistance from American troops in the capital. Outnumbered, outgunned, and out-generaled, the British regulars were defeated handily.

-British Forces destroyed
-No American losses
3,324 casualties

In Vermont, British and American forces destroyed the short-lived Republic of Vermont, and the occupied state became the center of battles between British and American forces. Unlike the front farther to the west, British troops went into Vermont with more troops and better generals. Neither side lost an army fighting Vermont forces.

Finally, the Battle of Vermont between the British Empire and Unitary State of America. Britain won the day.

-1 USA Army
-No British losses
+5 occupied territories
6,529 casualties

Orders hardlocked.

Edit: Lul so many economic downturns

I see China continues to reunite! :D

Meanwhile, some of the revolters from last turn are now, themselves, dealing with revolts. The Baltic Union has an RR hovering around 60%, but Cornwall was just unlucky.

Looks like it will be time for a gentle dose of old-fashioned imperial diplomacy in Africa. *shatters wineglass with hand*

Sorry for not getting orders in. Again. RL comes first unfortunately.

GLOBAL ECONOMIC NEWS

Two countries had an economic boom this turn. When a country is randomly selected for an economic boom or bust, further RNG rolls are determined who is affected. Having a trade agreement or free trade agreement increases the chance of being affected.

After initial affected countries are determined, more rolls are determined who they affect, and so on. A country won’t “infect” twice. Riccio, for instance, has so many agreements that it was hit affected once in its own economic boom, and three times in China’s boom. However, once the “those affected by Riccio” roll is done, it isn’t done again to prevent endless rebounding.

For this turn, anybody with just normal trade relations weren’t affected because I wanted to see how it would go with just trade agreements/FTAs. In the future, anybody who has normal trade relations and above will have a chance to be tapped.

Economic downturns work the same way and can be equally dramatic.

REVOLTS

The Glorious Corp has risen up against the Merchant Empire of Riccio! They seek to create a new Venetian Empire on the Atlantic. They demand a return to their rightful place in the sun.

The Republic of Quebec has risen up against the British Empire, demanding independence.

The Kingdom of Iceland has risen up against the Kingdom of Norway! They are seeking to place a new king on the throne.

The Caliphate of Libya has risen up against the Eyalet of Egypt! They are seeking full Libyan independence and all Egyptian territory west of Egypt proper.

The Sultanate of Borneo has risen up against the Federal Republic of the Coastal Nations! They are seeking full Borneo independence.

The Baikal Horde has risen up against the Russian Empire! No real reason. They’re just jerks.

The Hamburgian Federation has risen up against the Bauarish Empire of Holy Rome! They demand autonomy within the Holy Roman Empire.

The Birmingham Trade League has risen up against the Commonwealth of Britain. “Screw this,” the Lead Representative was quoted as saying about the current situation in the Commonwealth.

Lithuania has risen up against the Baltic Union! The new king desires unifying the Baltic Union under one, strong, king and central government.

The Republic of Breton has risen up against the Cornwall Confederation, which itself had risen up against the League of Urun last year. The new republic cites “massive” differences with Cornwall and seeks to establish a Breton Republic on mainland Europe.

Revolutionary Moldova has risen up against the Romania-Moldova Kingdom, which itself is still technically at war with Wallachia (though experiencing a ceasefire for negotiations). For the record, the RMK will make peace with Wallachia and become a vassal state if Wallachia either A.) Assist with the reconquest of the renegade Moldova or, B.) Give an additional 10 EP to the RMK (which will be used to conquer Moldova).

GLOBAL AFFAIRS

Every country now has a new trait listed on the stat sheet depending on its power relative to others. NPCs take into account this stuff when engaging in diplomacy and otherwise is just for bragging rights.

The ranks are

Insignificant(<-2)
Minor (-1-0)
Regional (z-score 0-1)
Great (1-2)
Superpower (2-3, not extremely likely)
Hyperpower (>3, gamebreaking)

But since these things are based on a z-score, don’t get too bent out of shape. Some countries have inflated scores due to having a large bank (which only count for little), for example. Manufactories also weigh more in the calculation than provinces (because they weigh more in trade than provinces). An army weighs more than a province or manufactory. A fleet weighs the most.

Final GM Notes

Do NOT post “trade agreements with all” or “accept all” at all in this thread ever. If you sign trade agreements or free trade agreements, you must put that in your orders and you must list every country you are signing with. You also must mention all alliances you are joining, defensive pacts being signed, non-aggression treaties, and embargoes in your orders.

Secondly, if you are missing Leadership Points, it is because you don’t have a capital.

FINALLY, now that many of you have actual traits, when posting or sending orders, make sure you copy and paste your traits from your nation post on the first page to the top of your orders. Also, if you know you got leftover EP, please tell me you’re banking it and how much! My stats page changes constantly while updating it.

Rule Updates

-Chance of countries with "Normal" trade relations spreading booms or busts to one another is halved.

-Economic upturns, from now on, will lower RR if the effects are significantly large compared to the economy affected. This should, somewhat, balance the RR pain from downturns.

-No RR in occupied territory.

Orders lock Monday prolly

Sorry for not getting orders in. Again. RL comes first unfortunately.

lolwut? You did get orders in.

Edit: Guys, look at that second post. Isn't it perty?

I did?

Okay Im losing it.

The Sultanate of Borneo has risen up against the Federal Republic of the Coastal Nations! They are seeking full Borneo independence.

"No." -President Pandithurai Elanjeliyan

Edit: Also, does my -10% RR during war apply when fighting rebels, or only when fighting other players?

"No." -President Pandithurai Elanjeliyan

Edit: Also, does my -10% RR during war apply when fighting rebels, or only when fighting other players?

It only implies when fighting other people's rebels, other countries, and other players. Your own rebels don't count.

Greater Wallachia.

We will do both. Romanians shall stay united as one from now on, and all who oppose this will only have one chance to reconsider before getting punished.

=====================================================

" General Patrascu!' shouts the soldier, closing in on Patrascu's tent. "General Patrascu! We've got orders to attack Revolutionary Moldova! "
" Finnaly! Some organized action! I was growing tired of petty bandits and robbers!" says Patrascu, looking at a map of the area. His army was stationed right near the border with the revolters in Moldova. The invasion would be short and swift. The Revolutionaries were disorganized and few, but had better strategical positions, and controlled two big cities. Patrascu quickly made up a plan which included a decoy hit-and-run attack on the Revolutionaries' camp. The Wallachian army would do most of the tactics and battle, as the RMK army sent word that they preffer less casualties, optting for keeping a supply line for the Wallachian Army. one of RMK's foudners, Lieutenant Lapusneanu led the small RMK attack force himself.
======
Meanwhile, in Brasov, the new Walalchian capital...

"... but we will never finish a complete transition to Democracy without foreign aid! We MUST call for more funds...." said Senator Muntean, with a worried look on his face.
"Spare me with your greedy desires, Senator. We produce more than we consume right now, and we do not need any foreign loans. And even if were were to call for foreign help, I will not raise your salary." said president Marcu, at the other end of the oval table. "And the tranzition is going well. All adminsitrative ranks have been repalced by their modern counterparts. All we need now is a reform ni the military system, and this fuss will all be over."
"It's easy for you to say, Marcu. You never led an actual army. If Patrascu wouldn't be there, you'd be defenseless. " said Munteanu.
"Enough! " shouted Marcu. " I will not let you to..."
The door to the chamber opens. A dozen guards enter the room, holding two oriental-looking men, one of which actually black.
"President Marcu, we've found the villains who torched Ada Kaleh!"
"Ah, those two? Asks Marcu, surprised. " I kkow them! Abdul Kharan and his nubian cousin! They were part of my band when I was known as " Valul", but disappeared before the attack on Curtea de Arges! I thought you got arrested!"
"Heh, you know us, boss. We're too swift to get arrested!" said Abdul, smiling. The black man slaps the back of his head.
"Yes, cousin, and we're here to say 'Hi'. Bah, I can't believe we're related!" said the black man.
"Me neither" says Marcu. "Guards, throw them in the dungeon. Keep Abdul there for twenty years and his cousin only three months."
"What? says Abdul. "How can he..." *gets slapped on the back of the head by his cousin again* "Ouch!"
"Pffft, of course, with a villain-president, we can't expect better things..." said Senator Muntean.
"Guards! Take Senator Muntean too. Thirty years for him." said Marcu.

The other Senators whispered a smooth " Finaly, that creep was a thorn in our sides since the beginning!" when Muntean was escorted to the dungeon, insulting Marcu Anghel continuously.

Can the NPCs 'see' the thread? Ex, if I post orders on how to deal with Borneo here, will Borneo know about it?
