RevolutionDCM for BTS

I can't download this mod on this site. Can you find a mirror to upload it from?
I keep complaning about it and no one seems to help me.

@PreLynMax
Occasionally CivFanatics does grind to a halt almost, but I haven't heard of this problem before honestly. I do not have a mirror for the download but could set one up if the problem continues for you. Do you have a very slow connection perhaps?
Cheers.

Is this mod using the Better BTS AI?

If not, it should. It's AMAZINGLY wonderful that the AI can actually do conquest and domination victories now... because it knows who to attack.

@Duuk
Better BTS AI is part of the Revolutions mod and most if not all of the code is written by Jdog the master. So to answer your question, Better BTS is indeed in this mod :)
Cheers.

The new version supports DCM 1.7.

In the absense of any criticism's at all of DCM, it's time to add it to RevDCM permanently. So far testing has revealed it to be very stable in terms of CTD's. It's a pity that stack attack is not totally fixed, but because you can save and reload, I personally will turn it on for myself and suggest you do the same. At least the CTD's from it are gone (yippie!)

On another personal note, I think Super Spies is very very cool and suggest you incorporate it into your game play as well.

Cheers and enjoy.

@Duuk
Correct about Inquisition not being included. At this point I'm confused about which way to take it. Firstly I cannot find the source code for Inquisitions in the WoC repository. Apparently, I should be using the WoC version of Inquisitions because it is better than Revolutions Inquisitions of which I am the uploader for.
Cheers.

whats up,

the woc source code is availblr with their new version 1 that was released to the world,
its an easy going merge, though, lots of files to go through....clear your afternoon fro this.

say glider,
are you sure that in the current setting of the new version you uploaded, theres no crash?
how many turns did you run?

and wierd, i thought super spies is bugged with a ctd...

good work anyhow.

**one more thing**

about the dissapearing interface you that mentioned,

does this happens with a certain dcm componant that you start with? or its not a specific dcm, componant, but the entire code itself?

Thanks for the tip Keldath. As far as testing goes of RevolutionDCM 0.94, with the options as is and including stack attack, I ran four automated tests at 400 turns each without a CTD. The logs are all clear as well.

Regarding Super Spies, you are probably not aware that myself and Jojoweb especially, spent a lot of time to fix it. Trojan Sheep has done a great job and only missed out on one tiny fault in his code.

Sorry I may not have made myself clear regarding loosing the interface. That only happens with stack attack *sometimes*. It's not the interface that goes down, but the inability to operate the interface anymore unless you save the game with ctrl-s and reload, upon which the reloaded game is a perfect and uninterrrupted continuation of your game including any outstanding issues like python popups that need to come up. For example, say you stack attack and capture a city and the interface control is lost. You save your game, reload and upon the reload, the question is immediately asked of you, "do you want to capture or raze this city" as per normal.

Cheers and enjoy your late night modding. Remember always that you need to civ. Sleep is an automated reflex and needs no attention. However civ is a learned skill that requires attention regardless of whether you are asleep or not. :)

Cheers.

hehehe...

modding is an addiction for me like booze or somthing...

well,
i wasnt aware you guys fixed ss, great job !

ok then, from what i understand, only if i turn on stack attack ill have the interface problem right?

and bout your testing, well, ive recently added rev 1.63 and dale 1.6 to my mod,
and around 800 turns, i got a ctd....(twice).

im asking all of these, cause im thinking of rebuilding my sdk code, based on yours,

when i get from work (its acctuallt morning here...and im at work...wish it was night ..)
ill ran a test of 0/94, and ill try to see if i get to 1000+ turns, that will clear my suspicion on any possible ctds,
i hate ctds.........!

:)

Yeah I'm not sure which is worse for the health. Civ or booze. :rolleyes:

Regarding your CTD's. At 800 turns other factors come into play. These factors are regarding your system resources and quite possibly not because of the code.

In other words after 800 turns your computer gets very tired and needs booze too.

Cheers.

Glider1: I have made quite a few xml changes to revolutionDCM in the last version, can I keep all the xml and python files and just replace a folder or are there some files I need to replace.

The DLL is set to 34 players correct?
Having trouble getting a map to work, and I'm assuming its 34 players but alas it keeps failing so I figure I would ask.

@Ajidica
There have been small changes here and there all over the place. Have you heard of the free modding tool called "WinMerge"? If you learn how to use it, it will tell you exactly what has changed right down to individual spaces between characters if that were to interest you. It's an essential tool for modders, you won't look back. With Winmerge, you would almost immediatly know which files you can leave, which need to be updated and which need to be replaced.

@Duuk
When you say that the AI is better at domination victories now, do you think that applies only to Pangaea like maps or does that apply to terra maps as well? In my testing, terra maps are still problematic for the AI but Pangaea is easier for the AI to get it's head around strategically.

Cheers.

34 civs is correct. This is simply what Revolutions is set too. I haven't changed it. Is that good for you?

Cheers.

Do you know where I can get winmerge? I have heard of it but I don't know where it is. There hasnt been any major changes to xml, right?

Thanks for winmerge. I can relate to the chihuahua thing. One of my neighbors has a chihuahua and it is the devil incarnate.

Thats what I figured. Hmmm... No idea why this map is crashing, I'll have to try another map and see if I can get it to take and then figure out whats wrong. Thanks for the answer. :crazyeye:

There are 34 default Civs in BtS + CIV_MINOR + CIV_BARBS (which can't be counted but must be in CivilizationInfos).

Make sure your map file has 34 (0-33) teams and players defined, not just the amount you use.
