RFC: BtS Bug Reports

On another matter, I had a ship of mine being sunk by a Maceman. I was playing the British and was at war with Spain. I decided to raid some fishing boars with my galleons, but after I pillaged I placed the galleon in Lisbon. Both Spain and I had open borders with Portugal. Then a Spanish Maceman came and destroyed the galleon.

I've even had a Spanish catapult (which is not supposed to kill units, just damage them) kill my Viking ships (not privateers). Well, maybe the hull was so damaged it was not seaworthy.

I have been consistently finding that the autoplay function runs one turn too many lately. Is this a bug with BTS or RFC?

Yeah the ship thing is a bit weak. It happened to me in a similar situation to Miro, except I had a large fleet carrying settlers with a sizeable escort of caravels all sunk by a single Spanish conquistador while in Lisboa.

Same here. Very annoying. I usually start again then :)
I also have no experience with autoplay outside of RFC so i can't say if it's RFC only.

If you want to squat then it is, because your workers will appear one turn earlier, plus I'm only playing emperor atm, and i have the feeling that this one turn sometimes does matter if you go for the uhv. So i rather start again, which is ok for most civs, except america or 3000BC starts maybe.

Why start again? It's only one turn, hardly a game-breaker.

Sometimes reloading from an autosave near the end of the autoplay turns will result in the correct number of turns being played out the second time around, but not always is this the case.

I don't see why I should randomly have to lose a turn just because the autoplay function screwed up. Some of the UHVs are pretty tight as it is to achieve in the timeframe, therefore losing a turn before you start doesn't seem good.

But is this bug a Civ IV BTS issue or an RFC mod issue?

Not so. The autosaves confirm that it is one turn too late for the start. Comparing autosaves which list "Iron Age" or "Medieval Age" it shows that two autosaves have already occurred in the most modern Age instead of one (which is supposed to be the autosave of your first turn).

That screenshot was from France. I entered the worldbuilder and gave myself Calendar to confirm that it was one turn too late already.

This is definitely a problem.

This happened to me with France once as well but I just restarted and it was fine. By the way it was the 600AD start. Also, this happened to me once with the version that shipped with BTS but I can't recall any details.

Recently it has happened to me both with France on the 600AD unlocked start and also Japan on the 3000BC unlocked start.

morning ,

confirmed :(

relaoding auto save stays the same so that was no solution , tried 8 civs to be sure

have a super day :)

This has happened to me as well, but only when I alt-tab out of Civ while it's autoplaying. Alt-tabbing back periodically to check on progress, rather than just leaving it for, say, half an hour seems to fix the problem for me.

A bug with the Arabian UHV - I've got 3 holy cities in 1300AD (Islam in Mecca, Buddhism and Hinduism in Delhi). Yet a few turns afterwards, it says I've failed the requirement. Does it required the three holy cities to be separate cities then? (in which case it'd be nigh on impossible, since the Christian and Jewish holy cities have been razed).

Ah, thanks. I'll try that.

When I build the Great Wall at Constantinopole (Byzantion), It doesn't work, the wall is not showed and barbarians are attacking from both Asia and Europe. It's like the Bosporus are an island surrounded by land...

hi ,

do you still have a save ?

Have a nice weekend :)

It needs holy shrines in the cities too if I remember right (no way to check it right now).

You are correct, you need to get enough Great Prophets to build 3 shrines.

It is possible to take Patna and build both Hindu and Buddhist Shrines and count this as 2/3 of the requirement.

The definition of "continent" in RFC is not necessarily the same as you personally feel might be the border between Europe and Asia.

I can't find the link, but someone did once post a pic which showed where all of the continent boundaries actually were - useful for application with certain wonders like the Great Wall.

For instance, Europe extends through quite a bit of Russia's spawn area.
