RFC Europe playtesting feedback thread

I gather that Hanseatic League can only be founded in a coastal city. It would be distinctive and cool if the executive could be a naval unit, to keep the League at sea, but I don't know if that's possible!

Is really is possible. I saw it in someones Unique National Wonder mod. Just give a boat the ability to spread Corp.

Really? Maybe then: Make the normal executive a boat, also make a second executive that can travel on land but costs a lot more.

IMO just the boat is good enough. But it will be much cheaper and faster. (to compare you can't reach all cities)

I found these art files.
Explanation:
Red cross: I think the don't fit the unit.
Blue cross: Already in the game.
Pink cross: Looks too much like the one 2 left of it. (Preventing people think it's a holk)
Green circle: I think these are the best ones.

I prefer the upper-right. (with bad circle;))

The Royal Academy is not worth spending a Great Person on. Especially an artist, who are far better used for culture bombs in almost all cases. Maybe add +25-50% science and culture?

On Hanseatic League: I like merijn's favourite ship too.

On victory conditions: If making a religious victory, you could include a condition about Faith Points. This pushes the player into creating Priests and taking actions that promote the religion within her borders.

I like it!
Question though... were their boats undefended? I think it should have some strength... I am not too sure, but they pretty much ran their area in the naval sense too, right?

You're right, but this way it is at least consistent with the other executives.

They go on water... and only on water... isn't that enough of a handicapped to make up for the 0 strength?
I would say to give them 4 strength... that way they don't really do much, but it's not an automatic victory for every single boat out there.

Just a thought, to balance the restriction of HL to coastal cities could they allow a special naval unit like the orders?

Also make sure AI knows what its doing, rather have old way than new one where AI keeps HL in one city.

I'll make them go on ocean after astronomy. (I forgot) I also made them faster and 20% cheaper then other executives. But I don't like the idea they get some strength. Other Executives haven't strength either. You should escort them. (And if I add strength, it will be 1 or 2 + only defend ability.)

Do you know what the Hanseatic League was?

Some of the important Hanseating cities: Lueneburg, Hannover, Magdeburg, Brandenburg, Erfurt, Cologne, none of them coastal (map). Rivers were major trade routes as well. I think it's enough if the HQ is coastal only, otherwise, many historical Hanseatic cities won't be able to become ones, though having 2 executive units may be confusing for the AI.

The Hanse ship that has been chosen is a caravel, that looks a bit weird tbh, for a company operating in the North. That fat transport ship doesn't look like a Holk really, especially if smaller, and it actually looks like a medieval transport ship.

How about let it very slowly spread naturally along trade routes, like religion does. That way inland cities could still get it.
