Alright Guys, here's the next story! If you can't tell from the title, this story is going to be about the Ottoman Empire (the title is the motto of the Empire -> Devlet-i Ebed-müddet). But, there's a twist. I also wanted to play an ancient civ for my next story, so I'm going to start from the 3000 start and switch to the Ottomans later on.

But what ancient civ could I play as, you ask? Well, I'm going to play as Persia. This story will be along the same lines as my old story. I'm aiming to get a historical victory for the Ottomans.

As for what I hope to accomplish with the Persians: I'm hoping to get most of their historical victory conditions but I'll just stop short of that so I can change into the Ottomans. Hopefully, this will spice things up in the Middle East. I'll post at least once every three days.

For next chapter: The Rise of Persia!

More fun: Persia, then Arabia, and finally then Ottoman! But I disgress.

You can only switch once in RFC.

[party] Yay, a sequel to the G Britain story! Hopefully it won't take as long, though :p

Well guys, I'm playing on Monarch as always, which may be a problem because I've only played as Persia on Viceroy  So, I'm hoping I can still come close to winning.

Well after waiting for all those beginning turns to cycle through, Persia spawns!

I'm a sucker for historical detail, so I found Parsa on the spot my troops spawned at.

In order to keep the empire functioning, Civics are changed to Monarchy and Slavery.

My troops look west and see the Babylonian city of Shushan. Sending emissaries to city, Cyrus convinces Shushan to revolt against the Babylonians to join the burgeoning Persian Empire.

Spoiler :
4shushfallsunderpersia.png

In honor of entry into the Empire, Shushan changes it name to Shush. However, this action angers the Babylonians. The rest of the Babylonian Empire declares war on me! The armies of the Persian king ride to Shush to beef up its forces there. Additional immortals appears in Parsa because Babylon declared war on me. Those troops also move to Shush to act as reinforcements.

As this is going on, Artacoana is established on the horse tile to the north. If Persia to own the whole world, it's necessary to start building immortals as soon as possible. Workers are sent to connect Artacoana to Parsa quickly.

Spoiler :

The Persian heartland has been settled and conquered. It's time the Persian army rode out to fight the Babylonians on the plains of Babylonia. To War!

For tomorrow's chapter: Persia Subjugates Babylon!

What?!

Well, I've played a good chunk of this game already, so I'll finish this story. But wow, when did that change? Guess I'll hav to do some serious updating if I choose to another story in the future lol

I must be playing an old patch too, then (I have the default version that comes with the default BtS :p)

Babylon has long been the jewel of Mesopotamia. It has the great oracle wonder in its city limits and it has marble and stone right off its cultural borders. It will become a great addition to the growing Persian Empire!

After a turn, Persian troops assemble in Shush. First I move the main body of troops next the border. Spotting that the Babylonians have a copper mine north of Shush, I send an axeman to pillage the tile to prevent the Babylonians from raising spearmen to fight my immortals.

Spoiler :
6axemanpillagesbabyloni.png

After my axeman pillages the copper mine, a Babylonian spearman attacks the main column of troops approaching the border. After destroying a Persian archer in the attack, my axeman counterattacks and destroys him.

Spoiler :

After this great victory, the troops were ordered to march to the outskirts of Babylon.

Spoiler :

A fierce battle ensues, leaving two companies of immortals dead. But finally, the Persians overcome the Babylonians and Babylon falls to the Empire.

Spoiler :

The persian king orders a map to be made of the new borders of the empire.

The persians have tasted sweet victory. Like a drug, battle is addictive. Who knows where the Persians lust for victory will take them?

For tomorrow's chapter: Persia Overcomes India!

Just don't forget about Greece! Their destined to raze that city

How could I forget about Greece? If I fail at everything else, at the very least I'll make sure they taste Persian steel! ;)

During the invasion of Babylon another Immortal had been raised in Persia. Joining the main forces that crossed East, the Persian army arrived on the border of India. However, a slave revolt had to be brutally suppressed in Shush.

Spoiler :

Sending an emissary ahead to announce the Persian declaration of war, Persian troops poured over the border and arrived on the outskirts of Delhi.

Spoiler :
12forcesarriveneardelhi.png

The weak Indians proved easier to conquer, as only one company of immortals perished in the siege of Delhi. Cutting through the Indian archers, the Persians enter the sacred city of Delhi.

Spoiler :
13capturedelhi.png

As Persian troops rest in the newly conquered city of Delhi, barbarians in the west attack Babylon. They are easily repelled by the superior Persian forces garrisoned there.

Spoiler :
14barbarianraidonbabylo.png

Splitting the troops into two groups, one column moves southwest to attack Japur. Losing another immortal, the Persians storm the city. However, because of the small size the city, the town perishes and is razed to the ground.

Spoiler :
15razejaipur.png

A scout appears from China. The Chinese seem powerful, but they are too far away to really deal with in any meaningful way. Next up, the Greeks make their first visit to the Persian Capital. Seeing that the Greeks are not as barbaric as many of the peoples surrounding Persia, the King agrees to a trade in technologies. The Greeks trade their alphabet for Monarchy and monotheism.

Spotting that an independent city had been established in Central Asia, two companies of immortals arrive on the outskirts of the town. Seeing that the defenders were weak, Persian troops make short work of them and enter the city. We choose to rename the city to Samarkand.

Spoiler :
16capturecityincentrala.png

Having fully rested in Delhi, the rest of Persia's forces arrive in Southeast India and destroy a single company of Archers to take the city.

Spoiler :
17capturevisaknapatnami.png

The following turn, reinforcements from Delhi arrived in Southwest India and conquer the last city belonging to India. The subcontinent now knows the Persian King as the sole Overlord of India!

Spoiler :
18bengaluru.png

The Persians take a sigh of relief after all these conquests. But there is so much more to do! The Persian king knows the world is destined to be his sole dominion, but he must first take it.

For tomorrow's chapter, The Persians March West!

Title of Icaria:
Icaria the 909th, Emperor of Persia, King of Babylon and Mahatma of India!
(Mahatma means Great Soul. Don't hurt me... :hide:)

The Esteemed God King approves of this message.

Awesome story! Can't wait for more!

Sorry I'm late in posting. I'm working on finishing some 200 pages of Algeria: 1830-2000 for class. I'll try to post an update tomorrow night :P

With Persia's conquests in the East, the empire can now expand to the west. After several turns of repositioning troops, the main army arrives in Babylon. A couple of catapults have already been built and they meet up with the main force. Persia needs a connection to the Mediterranean Sea, so the persian army marches west toward Sur.

Spoiler :
18troopsnearsur.png

After a few turns of bombardment, Sur falls and a Great General appears in Parsa. He's rides down to meet the forces just as they regroup for another assault against Levant.

Spoiler :
19capturesur.png

An envoy of Egypt appears in Sur. Persia trades Monarchy for agriculture to Egypt. It's a horrible trade, but I"m too busy researching construction to be able to get any other techs.

After healing in Sur and regrouping, my forces march south toward Jerusalem. Strangely, Jerusalem didn't found Judaism. It seems Egypt has done that. Oh well, I still need Jerusalem for another port on the Mediterranean Sea. After more catapults arrive to reinforce the main army, Jerusalem falls.

Spoiler :
21capturejerusalem.png

Construction is finished around this time! This tech is critical because I need the Great Wall to protect the empire from Barbarians (it's too hard to defend it just with soldiers) and I need to build it quickly before China does... So, Shush and Parsa start on building Pyramids and the Great Wall.

Having had the last of the troops arrive in Babylon from India, two immortals are sent Northwest toward Gordion. Finding almost no resistance in the city, Persian forces force their way into the city and conquer it easily.

Spoiler :
22troopsapproachgordion.png

So far, here is a map of the empire:

Spoiler :
24mapofpersia.png

Persia is now amassing its forces. The west has yet to taste Persian Steel. Egypt and Greece have yet to be brought into the fold of the empire. It's time they were subjected to the Greatest King in the World!

For tomorrow's chapter, The Great War begins!
