(RFC) The Mongol Horde

Oh, they collapsed when they had like 2 cities around Tibet and that one in the south, Hangzhou i think

Thought so. 'Cause they aren't in the empire screenshot, so I was just wondering...

With one turn left to conquer China, the horde continues to ravage the country!

Without pausing to rest after the capture of Qufu, the horde rushes east in record time and overwhelms the Chinese Garrison of Hangzhou. The city falls, but my mongolian army needs to pause for rest soon, as almost all the troops have been hurt in some way by now.

And I get my first UHV condition. So here is a map of the Empire just after the latest conquest.

And my scholars have finally researched Calender! This is probably the most important tech I could have because taking advantage of china's luxury resources is the only thing that's going to let my cities grow and be productive.

After all this fighting, a great General appears (Tamerlane) and I attach him to some troops in Qufu as they prepare for reinforce my other forces in the south.

In 1350 my troops stationed in Hangzhou move south and capture the lightly defended city of Guangzhou. Now the entire Chinese coast belongs to Mongolia.

The Empire now has control of the sea, and reinforcements from Northern China are continuously arriving in Qufu to prepare for the last stage of the China War. China, prepare yourself! The horde doesn't take prisoners...

For tomorrow's chapter: China Falls!

Nice start, like the writing style :) Hoping for more soon.

Thanks, compliments are always appreciated :D

When's the next update? hope you'll do better than me :D

I'm updating every day by 12pm (or by 4pm on some days). And don't worry, the Mongols bring out the natural warlord in me lol

Nice...you're going like i did in my game, but i conquered Korea with 1 mercenary before going futher south from Beijing

Btw, i think everyone should play DoC in marathon, it's so much better.

I need to find out where to get that, because I've only been using the RFC that came with BTS and as far as I know I can't do marathon on that (or can I?).

or take a look at the RFC mod development forum here in civfanatics, in the modmods sub-forum you can find it.
or even better, use the search function :)

Before the Mongolian empire can expand to the west, China must be finished off now!

In 1370 Mongolian troops led by Tamerlane rush south and capture Guiyang in southern China.

In 1390, unhappiness has become a debilitating problem for the empire, so Mongols adopt Monarchy. In the same year, the last Chinese city is captured.

Taking stock of the empire, Here's a map:

I could send troops to Tibet, but that would only distract from the larger goal of getting 10% of the world under Mongolian control. Troops are resting and collecting on the western route on the silk road, and catapults, pikeman, and keshiks are being raised in all my cities as the empire prepares for the next Mongolian invasion. I see green borders on the western edge of the silk road... Who should feel the wrath of the Horde next?

For tomorrow's chapter: The Horde Battles Dar Al-Islam

how are you planning to attack Russia with there evil winter?

how are you planning to attack Russia with there evil winter?

General winter always gives me problems, so I'm hoping to conquer quite a bit first and then leave them as my last target. Hopefully by then I should be able to conquer with all this momentum I've built up. Hopefully...

You just need a techlead, I would imagine. Strength 17 Tanks are still impressive when pitted against Muskets or Rifles. :)

Just use stacks of Keshiks to rush the Russian cities, leave them undefended while your keshiks destroy everything in their way, Russia is easy if you use the Keshiks, everything in siberia north-west of Mongolia in my game was conquered using like 7 or 8 keshiks :)

True, they're a fast moving unit, which is what you need.

After years of traveling, the horde arrives on the easternmost border of Arabia in 1420.

Spoiler :
21arabiaismet.png

Mongol Forces are relatively small, but reinforcements are constantly arriving west. War is declared on Arabia and the initial Mongol invasion force crosses the border and without warning attacks and captures Samarkand (btw, I changed the name of a few of Arabia's cities with world builder).

22capturesamarkand.png

By this point, many of the Mongolian Empire's Chinese cities are finishing building settlers to establish a Mongolian presence in Siberia.

Quickly taking advantage of my superior speed, Mongol forces continue to move south toward Persia and capture Khurasan in 1435.

23capturekhurasan.png

Finally, reinforcements arrive from the silk road and they meet up with the initial invasion force in Khurasan. This is well needed to keep my momentum up to continue conquering Arabia. Engineering if almost finished and this will allow my troops to move across the empire in record time! This is sorely needed if I am going to be able to keep up my conquests.

My forces move south and make short work of Arabia's troops coming to defend Merv. After a fierce battle, Merv is captured in 1440.

24capturemerv.png

I'm in serious need of reinforcements, so keshiks are whipped in all parts of China. They should make their way west as soon as possible. But I must continue west. I only have 60 more years to control 10% of the world!

So in 1455, Mongolian troops rush Shiraz and capture it!

25captureshiraz.png

Unfortunately, my troop levels have been seriously depleted and my forces need to wait for reinforcements before they can continue to move west into the Middle East and Turkey. Settlers have been making their way west to establish a Mongol presence in Siberia and reinforcements are making their way west to aid existing troops there. I'm on the doorstep of Arabia's heartland and right next to the Turkish city of Baghdad. It's time the Middle East truly learns to fear the Horde!

For tomorrow's chapter: The Scourge of God Punishes Baghdad!

Ideally, that's what I hope to do. You all have seen how much trouble I have with stability .

I'll leave that as a last resort ;)

of course!
i remember renaming a lot of them back in vanilla, when i really liked civ (unless i find a way to run RoM whiout crashing after some time, i will only play civ sometimes , when i want to play RFC. idk, it says something about graphics...but my pc can run Nappy TW, Battlefield 2, PES 2011/Fifa 2011 and other heavy games. i guess RoM just hate me)

where as I just hate RoM
