(RFC) The Mongol Horde

Sorry guys, but I've played too far ahead to be able to change the general's name now, but I'll take that into consideration for the future.

I'm way too busy today to be able to post an update. But don't worry! I'm going to post two updates tomorrow to make up for it.

In 1475 my horde of settlers is preparing to found settlements in Siberia and in the west. The first of these cities, Sanchu, is founded in Siberia.

In 1480, Mongolian forces led by Hulagu Khan cross the turkish border and invade the Ottoman Empire. they move quickly and take the city of Baghdad by surprise. Being the sucker for historical detail that I am, the city is razed.

I can't resist showing you all the rubble

Seeing how Ottoman power in Mesopotamia has evaporated and sensing that Arabia's main forces have pulled back deep into the Arabian peninsula, Mongolian troops sweep south and capture Al-Kuwait in the same year.

Hulagu Khan decides to lead his main force west to attack deep into Ottoman territory, while the rear guard moves north and captures Kasht.

The Middle East is trembling beneath the mighty of impact of the Mongolian Empire! But, the Mongols are also extending their power elsewhere...

For tomorrow's chapter: The Mongols Claim the North!

I love RFC stories. :goodjob:

With an empire so large, there are so many things happening that everything that happens in this post is in 1485.

A horde of settlers has moved north off the silk road. I'm hoping to establish a Mongolian presence close to Russia to halt Russian expansion east while preparing for a future invasion west.

So here is the establishment of the Golden horde:

I have fifteen more years. It's time the Middle East feel the final blow from the Mongolian Empire!

I love RFC stories. :goodjob:

The same. Thanks a lot Icaria909! I'm enjoying the narration as well - very good job. It's nice to be able to compare approaches to Mongolia. I always seem to run out of time. When you raze Baghdad you can probably get some of the nearby cities to join you.

Best story I've read in a while.

Wow, these Siberian cities are junk, why not just leave them to Russia and later attack it through the Caucasus or even eastern Europe after your Arabia/Ottomans campaign is finished?

Time limitations and stability. Trying to get the 10% by 1500 is the hard part of the UHV. But southeastern Siberia is within Mongol historical bounds, so he doesn't get the stability hit as badly. Remember, his stability is weak now. If he wasn't going UHV, no way he'd found those junk cities.

if you could please consider continuing after you win? i want to see a mongolian india ( you know, after you've stablized yourself)

Thanks a lot. I feel like I don't like CIV I just like RFC

I'll see what I can do :mischief:

Ilkhanate is extraordinarily strong. All Mongolian troops and auxiliaries have moved into Persia to prepare as reinforcements (that also includes a great engineer and another Great General). However, my stability is falling with every year that passes by. So, I may divert these troops to other places :king: but more on that later...

Hulagu Khan has finally moved into a position to capture a great portion of the Middle East. In 1495, he captures the city of Iskandarem on the coast of the Levant and razes it.

I didn't have a picture from before, but Iskandarem was a population of 9, so all those little cities around it become mine :D

In the year 1500, I have 10.7% of the world and achieve my second UHV! Here is a map of the Mongolian Empire at its greatest extent.

Here's a better map outlining the the political powers around the empire.

The Mongolian Empire is the largest empire the world has ever seen. But the Empire is extremely unstable. But troops are moving for the last great conquest of the Empire. It's time that India meet the Mughal Empire!

For tomorrow's chapter: The Rise of the Mughal Empire!

I have many troops that have gathered near Merv. They're preparing for an invasion of Russia, but then I check something...

Spoiler :

Seeing that the empire is going to collapse really soon, my troops race east to escape the impending collapse of the greatest empire in the world! and then it happened.

Spoiler :
41asiaafterthemongols.png

The Empire has collapsed, leaving scattered troops and armies displaced across the Middle East and Central Asia. Fortunately, a large portion of my troops from Persia had crossed the border into into India and remained under my control after the collapse.

I need a new base of operations. I'm isolated in Mongolia. I'm extraordinarily far behind in techs and I need to trade a lot if I'm going to again be in a position to finish my great conquests. It's time India becomes the center of a great new Mongol dynasty: the Mughal Dynasty!

After my troops are being led Babur the Great, they move east near Delhi

Spoiler :
43timurleadstroopsintoi.png

At the same time, Kharakorum is rushing longbowmen, walls and castle for protection. There a lot of great independent cities that all want to capture my capital and they all have much larger armies than my forces in Kharakorum. In the meantime, I disband some twenty units from across the former empire for financial reasons. Also, I would have had to declare war on multiple civs to get them to be useful and I'm not in position for waging any majors wars. So, goodbye armies.

All the armies except my forces in India. In 1525 they score a stunning victory and Capture Delhi.

44capturedelhi.png

The Empire sees a new beginning. The Mughal Empire converts to Islam after I use one of my two missionaries that followed the armies to convert Delhi to Islam. The foundations of a great new state have been laid. Soon all of northern India will fall to Babur's armies. They have much to do if they are to recapture the former greatness of the Great Mongolian Empire!

For tomorrow's chapter: Babur conquers India!

i hope you will be trying to beat "3000 years of rome"s recorded for the most collapses in one story
