This means we should dump the old Izzy? ;)

Unfinished??
Did you dl and test the LH?

You should try it
In my opinion this is one of the best user created LHs for Civ IV

I just want to bump this to say:
After the release of Beta 12 a couple leaders will be optimized and updated.
Isabella and Barbarossa for example

Any other suggestions regarding the LHs?

I don't like the new Izzy just because it's so dark and scary! Her outfit is way more realistic but I don't think cathedrals especially in sunny Spain were so gloomy and foreboding even back then! :(

EDIT: I don't know, I'm torn between the depressing church in new Izzy and the terribly immodest and un-christian choice of attire on old izzy.

2nd EDIT: Nevermind, go with the new one, without a doubt. :D

I like the new one, perhaps lighten the background a little

Wow. The new Izzy is bad-assed.

I'd also like to vote for Gustav II Adolf as a Swedish leader. To me, Karl XII is slightly less fitting, as he was the king under which the Empire fell, and was possibly shot by his own men. He was an extremely aggressive military king, and is certainly a good fit, but I think - even despite his untimely death - Gustav Adolf would be a slightly better fit, as he was the king who gave rise to the Swedish Empire. (Fun fact - had he not died so early, he would have almost certainly managed to merge the crowns of the Swedish and Holy Roman Empires. Holy united Germanic peoples, Batman!)

I only chose Karl XII to be the 2nd swedish leader, because Gustavus Adolphus is too close to Gustav Vasa in the timeline :/
He is still on my list though, so I may revise this later ,)

I can easily change the BG (for example to the Firaxis Izzy's), but actually I really like the theme there

Oh yeah, found the conversation about the swedish leaders from early february:
(so Gustav Adolph is definitely not forgotten :))

Karl XII would be fit for a Swedish leader after Gustav Vasa. He was very aggressive...

Yeah, he is also an option for a 2nd swedish leader
Gustav Adolph is the other worthy candidate IMO
...
So, back to the leaders, I plan to make another update soon
Any suggestions regarding the leaders already in?
Or any ideas where to add that blonde duchess?

I plan to add Gustav Adolph or Karl XII as a second swedish leader, Ivan Asev as a second bulgarian leader, and updating some of the current art (lithuanian leaders, maybe Barbarossa)
And still thinking about switching Haakon to Margaret...

Very cool. :)

I totally understand your view, too - the American leaders change pretty quickly in regular RFC. I barely feel like I've gotten to know George when Abe appears.

Just out of curiousity - have additional Byzantine leaders been considered? I know most Byz emperors were unremarkable, or were effective but predate the mod's years (Constantine, Theodosius). Justinian is certainly the best candidate for a lasting emperor in the mod, but Leo III (stabilised the empire, repelled the Umayyads) or Basil II (conqueror of long-time enemies, the Bulgarians) could certainly be candidates, even if for the virtue that both reigned longer than 5 years. :)

I'm not really campaigning on this one - I think Justinian is great - I'm just interested why the empire that lasts almost a millenia in the mod only had one leaderhead while others like Portual had 3, purely out of curiousity. Was this decided in the early days of the mod?

Almost all civs got one leader about 1,5 years ago, adding new leaders was a slow process. I'm not sure why Byzantium stayed with one leader in that stage of development.
When I started modding RFCE most current leaders were there, I only added 6 or 7.
Anyway, Basil II is on my list ever since I first saw the mod.
It's the matter of artwork he is not yet in: the Basil LH art I like is used as Simeon in the mod.

Btw, here are my notes before the last leader update (febr. 1st - also from the same thread :p):
If anyone interested, here are the notes I made about the leaders right after my last LH update
The ones with + are already in of course
Maybe I can get a few comments on the others thus a few decisions will be easier
