Could it be that Barb warriors wandering around stop the Americans from spawning? What happens if barb units are on the tile that the American units are supposed to spawn on?

034

1650 - a new civ is born in North America...

... the Aztecs! again! and there is already a living "old" Aztecs!
Or is it the Second Coming? :D

Else:

Rhye, I see you gave Persia ONE extra immortal...
on Prince level, it was far not enough, barbs took Ur back,
and thus it was the end for Cyrus...

England:
does not settle Ireland - perhaps because of the sheep left is Scotland?

China:

Still very strong, as he has 3-4 fully developed cities in the north,
non-jungle region :(

Game is on Prince level, Europe learns guns in the 17th century...

reading you make these reports urges me to play all the more :) I'll try 034 tonight.

034

in 1902 (100 turns left)

China attacked India in about 1800.
India puts up some heroic defense but will give up sooner or later :(

China has double commerce spent on science that Greece,
and 3/2 than England, the second best
China now learns Rocketry.

Europe is pretty good, they learn Biology and Physics now...

England settled USA lands in the 18th c.

034 test

Check out this graph of goods (hammers)

This is with jungles NOT cut out...

EDIT:
And ah, India did not capitulate! :)
Lost 2 cities, but then peace was settled

Rhye, it seems that game will not develop well tech-wise, not even on Prince.
In 1944, China (!) needs 25 turns to complete the Apollo...

Fine, I will have a general viewing run one or two times but then I have an idea:

I will let the game run until BC 750 when Rome borns.
Then save the game - and start this save me playing Rome :)
It is possible, isn't it?

It's possible only if you use Egypt, India, China or Greece before switching to Rome

It should have. Do you remember any popup message around 1650?

Rhye, the Aztecs were born in 1650 in the place of USA, a second Aztecs...

Idea on China:

How about making some drawback based on the total population?
If a nation (China) reaches a cap, there would be punishment on economy,
and this cap would change as time goes by.

Next time I will take data on how total pop changes as dates go...

Here is a pic of RAM and Loading times:

The change from 1 GB to 2 GB made it so:

Rhye, check out the following chart.

x-axis: number of turns passed

Y-axis: population in thousands

Game is on Duke level
The example is kind of irregular as Egypt and Russia was killed by barbs...
But trends are clear...

Perhaps it is not bad if the "stop" is also for Japan and India too...
How do you all think about this?

So a "punishment" may be forced to civs over - say -
over 500 thousands pop in turn 150-170,
over 1000 th. pop in turn 170-200,
over 2000 th. pop from 200 turns on

This population difference is striking...

And the problem with big pop is that these Asians
make a lot of specialists in the cities which give them advantage on many levels...

EDIT:

If we want only China to be punished,
then total population and number of cities may be combined as factor
