RifE 1.20 Bug Thread

It's main use was intended to allow you to build a fort in enemy territory, as a base. I think I'll either require you to be in enemy territory to build it, or go with the rooted commander idea... Only problem with that is the Clan and their boss line.


I'll be changing this. I agree that it is open to abuse in its current form. :)
 
I know its been mentioned that the clear swamp spell is broken... but should it really be a spell instead of a worker ability like clear forest? This would mean you could build improvements at the same time you clear the swamp in a single button press. The AI would probably better understand the implications of this as well.
 
Alright, so I downloaded the RifE mod, and got the first-turn crashing so I followed the hotfix directions in the download thread. It worked, played as Kane of the Malakim for a few hundred turns then went to do something else. Came back and tried to play again as the Hippus and got the first-turn crash again. Tried the hotfix again, didn't work. Help please?


EDIT: Tried loading the saved game that worked, got the crash again.

I deleted the entire RifE file and redownloaded it, and it worked for one night. Tonight, however, it crashed again. I really don't want to spend an hour downloading every time I want to play. I'm running it on the latest Civ4 BtS patch on Windows Vista if that helps any.

This is the best Civ mod I've ever seen, and I'd really like to, you know, play it.

why dont you just keep the Installer? I dont understand why a new installation would fix anything but if it helps then I just would keep the installer. (Except if you have a Virus/Trojaner on your computer that changes files then just keeping the installer wouldent help also :crazyeye:)
 
That...actually makes sense, since it's the installer that takes forever to download anyways. Thanks

First turn crashes...do you have the hotfix installed? It is fixing first turn crashes...
 
Just got a strange bug where the "gain aggressive trait" event kept popping up every turn after I lost and took back a city in the same turn. I mean, the aggressive trait is nice and all, but I was going for spiritual that game. :p
 
Playing a game as Mordmorgan when I got a CTD.
In a process of elimination I noticed deleting some barbs standing on a D'Tesh improvement made it possible to play on.

Love the mod btw, playing launon with the pirate coves expanding culture is fun.

Added the save in case it helps.

I get it after 4 hours from the other mirror and a take a look to the civilopedia:

AMAZING! 5 stars is by far not enough.

but i guess i need this file for the first round bug.
 
Is there anything besides the hotfix, because the hotfix isn't working permanantly, just temporarily for me =/
 
shame on me for my illiterate own try to make a mod.

Now your mod is running fine and every hour waiting for download is paid back triple.
 
Valk, I'm one of the biggest fans of the mod, here. But I'm a completionist; I will not play a game if there's a version more advanced, if there's a single bug in existence that hasn't been knocked out, et cetera. The upgrades for 1.21 are just eating away at my brain. I have to know: WHEN. When will it be available to us in a semi-finished state (I know pretty much everything's up in the air when bugs remain to be found, a task never fully completed via beta-testing) for consumption? Do you know a rough estimate at this point?

Sadly, not at all. RL stuff in the way atm; Specifically, I have a Lit Analysis paper to write, a Religion paper to write, and a 'programming' project to work on; Except it's not actually programming, it's logic/pseudocode because for some reason the introductory programming course (have to take it before moving on to others) doesn't include any actual programming.
 
Yep, I remember the early programming course I took, it's your basic 'use our silly guidelines of squares and circles and diamonds and lines to design a theoretical, super-basic program' exercises, yeah? Ugh, but yeah, I hear the busy-ness business. You have our support and we'll be eagerly awaiting your schedule's lessening for our own benefit!
