Mali with Mansa Musa, because the more I post it the more it will come true, right?
Yes, the Celts need more neo-pagan stereotypes.Random thought I had was a Druid as unique religious unit for Boudicca that also does normal combat -- like the warrior monk...with something unique obviously (something to do with forests, whether it be strength, earns faith with a victory, or extra movement points).
Canada is next, obviously.
A second female leader in a row would likely not be met with a positive reception on many sites unfortunately, even if it's a legitimately deserving one. I'm thinking a male leader for an American or African civ, or perhaps a new civ entirely (the next European leader probably is the Dutch one IMO).
Yes, the Celts need more neo-pagan stereotypes. The druids weren't warriors; they were scholars. And there really wasn't anything all that special about them compared to any other ancient civilization with a powerful priest caste. If they really want warrior-poets, the Celts did have vates, who were warrior-poet-seers. But more poets and seers than warriors. The best UU for the Celts would be some kind of spearman (wearing chainmail, not naked) or light chariot (perhaps a faster melee version of Egypt's UU).
Why don't you think they'll be in the same expansion? Because of a similar renaissance era/exploration theme? I mean, I guess, but if it's going to be Wilhelmina then I feel like they would be sufficiently different, no?
There were three classes in Gaulish society (and the Britones were similar): druids/vates, "knights" (loosely speaking), and commoners. The knights were the political leaders (very much akin to later Germanic ring-lords), but the druids and vates outranked them. They didn't fight because that's what knights are for.Oh...damn... I was thinking Rome Total War. Who's to say they can't have done both...Ya feel?
That's open to debate. Some scholars think he had his artists deliberately depict him looking bizarre/deformed/androgynous as some kind of transcendental religious statement. Others have diagnosed him with all sorts of physical deformities and illnesses. Other think that his odd appearance is just the shock of not seeing him depicted as an athletic teenager despite being ninety (*cough*Ramesses*cough*) or physically deformed (*cough*Tutankhamun*cough*).![]()
From which you'd never guess he had a cleft palate.![]()
Yep, they definitely only have Male leader choices. And they can count as a European Civ....
So I'm anticipating a European Civ (Byzantines, Celts, Netherlands, or something entirely new), Ottomans, or possibly an African Civ for the next reveal.
Five more days until the 12th....
Does anyone think Firaxis will take a break from the First Look videos for one week? Probably the week of Christmas.
Though Americans generally don't observe Boxing Day as with the Commonwealth, some businesses take day off on December 26 anyways.Christmas is on a Monday. Given American work culture, I bet they have an FL on Thursday that week.
We must thank the CFC mods for their hard work keeping the website clean of toxicity found in other large active Civ communities. Even during weekends.Maybe they'll bring out the Mongols next with a female Khan, just to maximize youtube meltdowns.
