I wouldn't be surprised if it gives some benefit to snow tiles, but that can't be the primary reason people would build it - it just wouldn't be worth it. Your guesses are as good as mine as to what that snow benefit might be. But I predict a benefit to snow tiles will not be the only thing the wonder gives.
Could be. Is this the last wonder available to be built on the tech tree? You’re right that this does have to be something game changing. As I’ve been thinking about it, I think it has to be something that so lopsidedly changes the value of snow tiles that humans see an incentive to put build cities in weird places just to get this wonder. That seems more in line with what Firaxis is prone to do. It could also be something that affects all snow empire-wide, like what the Eifel Tower does for appeal.
Another possibility: Snow is just the build requirement, and building it lets your city perform a special project called “Arctic Research” that doubles your current empire-wide output of GS and GE points, and provides +20% empire wide production and science while active.

It's a late-game civic (I forget which one - they figured it out either in the screenshot thread or the Dec 13 livestream thread).
I fully expect snow to be a build requirement. The GS and GE doubling project idea is interesting - I don't think we have any wonder benefit like that yet.

Hi all, my apologies if this has been posted, but I haven't seen it talked about or posted in the features thread. There's some very different government effects for Most Tier 2 and 3 Governments. At 36 minutes into the dev livestream:
Communism: + 0.4 Prod per citizen in cities with governors
Democracy: +2 prod +1 Housing per district
Fascism: War weariness reduced by 15%
Merchant Republic: +15% toward districts
Theocracy: No faith buying? (Can't read the whole tip)
I know why they did it. I just don't like it. Then again, I don't think I've ever had more than eleven traders, and that's with Merchant Republic, so...I'm not the target audience for this change.
So we've got teasers on Mondays, Civ First Looks on Tuesdays, and wonders on Fridays. Does this mean deep dive videos will be shown on Wednesdays or Thursdays? Or will the be folded into the streams?
