[R&F] Rise and Fall General Discussion Thread

Well, off by a day. I'm still surprised they posted something on a holiday.

I wonder if the FL returning to Tuesday presages a return of the livestream and Wonder movies this week.

So, guys, although I'm a little bit late, let me wish you happy new year 2018! I've even drawn a picture for this occasion :D

Also, thirty-eight days to go!
Lack of female representation. You should be ashamed of yourself. :nono: You even had one who has her own wine glass! :p

(Seriously, nice work. :D)

That has not been Firaxis's approach in the past, and those who bought the DLCs (either one by one, or together in the DDE) would be livid if those DLC were included in the expansion at no additional cost. That said, you shouldn't need those DLCs to enjoy the expansion (you just won't have the DLC civs or scenarios).
Will the DLC from Civ 6 civilizations be available to play in Rise and Fall or only in the original game?

All DLC civs will work in Rise and Fall. People would be apoplectic if they didn't.

On another note I heard this today and I seriously doubt this Early Empire quote is a coincidence.

"Look back over the past, with its changing empires that rose and fell, and you can foresee the future, too."
- Marcus Aurelius

You forgot it was too Eurocentric as well.:p

So, are we going to get a livestream this week? What's your bet? (You win nothing but bragging rights, afaik)

I'm sticking with no, even though the Monday teaser raises chance a bit in my mind.

It was probably autoposted on social media, so no one was working today to make it happen. The timing hopefully reflects a return of the livestream.

The DLCs are not included in Rise and Fall, but if you have purchased them, of course you can play them in Rise and Fall.

I would not exclude some abilities changing or some nerfs however. It seems unlikely though since the DLC civ would be different for R&F owners and non-owners. That probably only happens to vanilla civs and might leave those civs for R&F non-owners eternally unbalanced.

I really hope they nerf Australia and Aztec they are just ridiculous.
But I don't count on any nerfs they might be too scared/lazy to touch civ balance.

any balance to Vanilla Civs/ Vanilla DLC Civs is might be patched into the base game (there is usually a big patch for the base game at the same time as the Ex Pack)

In the ongoing coincidences of Wikipedia, today's featured picture is Mehmed IV of the Ottomans. Ottomans confirmed. :D

But is Mehmed IV an expected leader possibility? Or is Wikipedia trolling us? ;)

In other news, a YouTube notification just popped up on my phone, and in the split second before I could see that it wasn't Civ-related, I was wondering if we were getting the first look early for some reason or if we were even possibly getting a surprise Civ that would have reason to be released early and who could that possibly be? And then my sanity returned. It wasn't civ at all.:crazyeye:

Clearly too much Civ on my mind.

1 hr, 35 min until we see the Cree!

It's one of those clues we played too much Civ VI: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/1000-clues-you-played-too-much-civ-vi.599926/
