Rise of Mankind 2.81 feedback and bug reports

Hrm..... Is ROM inherently more complicated then regular BTS? I've got 2gb on the mother board and a 512 video card. I've never had this sort of problem with regular BTS.

Thanks for the input!

Turning all graphic settings on low will avoid late game MAFs, mostly. I rarely see them now. It also has the added benefit of turns running faster, so I just play with everything on low.

Any other common fixes? I just tried this with an older save with the lock-up problem, and the game instantly becomes unresponsive when I press end turn. When I try it, overall RAM use is just ~75%, with Civ exe taking just over 1GB, and the save in question is just over 2MB. Doesn't seem consistent with what I've read of this issue on this forum so far...

I don't know if this is a bug or what. Whenever I play, all units have infinite promotions and gold output is way off- like a million a turn. Other than that, everything works fine. Any tips would be appreciated

My inquisitors don't have an option for purging religeons at all. The button itself is missing.

I have Intolerant and Christianity as a state religeon, and am trying to purge the religeon from a city. I tried Ctrl+Alt+O and made sure purging holy cities was enabled, and it was.

Anyone else have this issue?

Unless you alter the GlobalAltDefines file, you can only affect your own cities.

Forget the settler issue, I guess you can't build cities on peat bogs.

Anyhow, about the inquisitor:I am going after my own city. I started the game in one of the later eras and the game started me off with the hinduism holy city, which I didn't want. So, teched to christianity and founded that religeon, which I made into my state religeon once every city had it.

And did you patch the RoM mod to 2.81 and keep the folder named Rise of Mankind?

V2.81 does also crash in the same way as 2.8

First I thought that was an easy problem that more users have come across.
But it seams to be a more unusual problem that I have

Ok, here are my system settings I trying to run RoM on:
System: Vista-32, home (SP2)
Ram: 4gb
Processor: Intel 2,6 dual core
Graphic: Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT
Civ-IV version: BtS v3.19, digital download version

I've installed version 2.8 on my Civ IV Complete Edition updated to 3.19.
I don't see any menu anywhere !
And Option button doesn't work too (ingame, main menu too)

Dont know if this is a Bug or not:

I have been trying to get a modcomp working with this mod since a month now, i have tried everything:

I have tried it like my Espionage one or like Dancing H's Warriors of God, but it JUST wont work, so then i tried to put the events in YOUR RoMeventmanager, in the correct spot, no luck, i then tried to use the old way and place each unit in the art files etc, no luck.

Then i was just about to give up and i tried to put the OLD EventManager from BtS back in with my changes BESIDES your RoMeventmanager one and it works.

Now the question is will it interfere with or prohibit anything from working correctly if i do it this way?

Could anyone tell me if either version of ROM 2.71 or 2.81 is multi-player compatable?

I so want to play this mod, but......

aaarrrggggggg, I've upgraded BtS to 3.19. I downloaded DoM 2.8 torrent Mega version. Installed and unzipped successfully to the Mod folder. Then downloaded and installed 2.81 Mega patch. Didn't work. Went and installed the woc_installer. Still doesn't work.

BtS start normally, I select RoM under advanched. Game kinda disappears for 5 min and BtS RoM starts. Can surf around and play with all options under Custom, etc, once I select final OK, game crashes with either some libary run time error message, or something that looks like screen size settings and some thingy about graphics or simply Bts has encountered a problem as has to close.

I've tried several smaller to tiny maps but no joy. I have the latest drivers installed. 4gb Ram, HD5850 GPU, etc,

Any ideas to solve this problem?

Regards.

Which version of windows? If it is a 32bit version then it can't use all the 4gb RAM which means that you probably can't run mega. If it is a 64bit version of windows, I don't know.

Ty DH for the reply. Tried running BtS with Rom mega on XP Pro, not sure if it's 32 or 64 bit version. I also have Win7 installed on newer HDD, not sure 32 or 64 bit. I'll install there tonight and report in about 7 hours or so. Any other ideas?

If you want to find out what is on your system, in the start button a space should read:

Search programs and files: type in there dxdiag, it tells you what you want to know.

Did you add the event triggers to 'rise of mankind\assets\config\init.xml file? There's no limit how many eventmanagers the mod has - you'll just have to trigger them through BUG config files.

I'd suggest using 64bit Win7 for Mega version. 64bit Win7 can run also 32bit programs. Have you tried the Full version? Mega version does require quite a lot to run so you should first test out the normal version.

Your problem looks like some kind of python problem. Can you post the logs from your game? See the first post in this thread for instructions. I suspect that either mod folder is not exactly named 'Rise of Mankind' or that the path where the game/mod is located contains some letters that the mod can't decipher and in this case you could open CvAltroot.py file to notepad and follow the instructions there.

Hi, figuring out what bit windows is is the easy part. Getting RoM to work is seemingly more diffucult. Can RoM mega only work on Windows 64 bit? Thanks zappara, I'll try the full version on Win7 tonight.
