[Rising Tide] New Faction - Lena Ebner's INTEGR

INTGR's 2 agreements that she can sell to others:
party politics: more diplo capital from your capital city
information warfare: war score increased by certain percentage

Further muddying the lore waters, I have no idea how their character traits (whatever they are, hippie, left-wing, but also technology-loving?) translate into reduced diplomatic capital.
I assume they go into the negotiation, yell some buzzwords and in fear of being called a misogynistic potentially transgender-/ or lesbian-hating <word was censored, so I'll replace it with> 'person' the other leaders give them what they want.

Have seen that happen a thousand times by now. :D

The bonus seems like it overshadows Franco-Iberia's: Franco-Iberia has been weak since they replaced free tech with free virtue.

I'm hoping FI gets a buff prior to release.

I agree that this new sponsor makes things feel very European heavy, and that it is somewhat vague.

Capital is called "Weltgeist". That sounds... silly. 8)
Eh, the ability is called "Kategorischer Imperativ", they just seem to try and channel 18th century philosophers!

Well, that's my stance towards strangers as well. :D

Lol they just can't win. Before it was "How dare they release a game without a northern EU faction?!" And now it is "blech typical Civ EU bias"

I, for one, welcome our new EU factions :)

My first thought at seeing her was "angry lesbian", but transgender is believable to,

To me she looks ALOT like Katherine Wynne (who is a lesbian) ... leader of the Liberal Party in Ontario Canada!!

I SO dislike the Liberals  having this reminder in every game is not gonna be fun :wallbash:

Hm. Judging from a quick google-search... they do indeed look somewhat similar. :D

I SO dislike the Liberals  having this reminder in every game is gonna be a problem :wallbash:
Mhhh. If politics cause you problems while gaming, then that's a sign you're taking politics waaaaay to serious. (<- The Irony!) The fact that she represents so much of what I despise AND that she's meant to represent my Country just means I'll enjoy smashing her face even more. :D

I have similar sentiments regarding Hutama and the Commonwealth.

I think I remember hearing that we would be able to purchase buildings and units with Diplomatic Capital. I find it interesting that Ebner gets a discount towards that end.

I'm lost. Hell, i'm lost with NSA too now that i realize it. How are this woman and the NSA guy alive by landfall.

"Spirit of the world"? I have quite much forgotten my German classes..

Quite easy to figure INTGR traits if you live in today's Europe... but I see what you did here, Firaxis!

Let's take new left-wing, alternative, underground-like movements (see greek Syriza, spanish Podemos...), consider now Germany is in the poor end, and move their political activism/vanguardism there (well, germany has Die Linke too, and they are not that conventional).

Now, we already moved the conservative socialdemocracy to France-Mediterranean, and turn Merkel into Elodie - voilá we have changed the European balance of power, and keept it all equal.

At the same time, we revive the traditional European latin (conservative) - germanic (progressive) divisions in religion (catolicism-protestantism), law (strong vs relaxed civil law), overall historic régimes (from ancient absolute monarch - emperor elected by princes to modern centralized state vs federal republic)... of course, there are many shades in this overall black-white, but that's the game that Elodie-Lena will play.

As for INTEGR, of course it stands for Integrity (as fairness), Integer (as complete), Integration (as open to foreginers)... several (positive) meanings and the "coolnes factor" of removing vowels... quite right for a sponsor described as a political party.

PS: Netherlands is not franco-Iberia, its land is now under sea, and their cities are part of the NSA (we know Amsterdam was relocated by Mr.Hugues... we do not know where exactly).

The problem was they made 2 northern europe factions.

A diplo faction that was non geographic would have been better
Nonaligned League: Swiss-German/Caribbean/Korea/Iran

If they wanted an anti imperialism philosophy they could start not making white Europe its representant.

It's kinda cool how Tom Clancy's Endwar, despite being another militaristic war game RTS, had this guy as the head of the European faction's armed forces.

I believe that Al-Falah is the only one so far to use generation ships. Everyone else hibernate during the journey.

i thought the 4 new sponsors were meant to come from generational ships. I guess not

They all just left later. So far Al Falah, seems to be the only Sponsor to have used a Generation Ship.
