Excuse me, What makes you think we would have even a Remote Chance of giving any pain to Carthage with our Swords?

AFAIK, we got leaders out of that Excursion as well. We Cant do anything on our Landmass until we had removed Carthage and an Idea of How much Attrition that would lead to is Terrifying.

Granted, The Indian Excursion was almost Useless, But We would have had a Pathetic Chance against Carthage At that point

I really had thought that the team agreed that we would get our empire up and running by being very careful about meeting anyone. We could have spent that time getting our own land settled without any wars whatsoever.

Once it was done, it was done and you go on from there but it would have been nice to have owned all our available land first.

Find a bunch of units in Utica, workers and slaves and cannons. Use them.

Maya has Calvary. We saw three on the last IBT, all three are now dead. We do not see any Horses or Saltpeter visible, so they are hidden in the fog.

We've made some small advances southward. Calakmul, on the east coast, is gone. The greatest threat from Maya is their Cavlary. The Green Dots are places where Mayan Calvary can easily breach our lines in the next turn or so; the Green Lines are just where they could come from. The Red Dots are tiles we need to pillage to slow down the Cavlary. My big fear is that the Calvary focuses on our science farms and not units. If the Mayan go after stragglers and isolated units, good. That will slow them down and we can kill them on the rebound. It is harder to replace cities.

Now that the Iroquois are a much lesser threat I've begun to move units out of Skeet Shoot and closer to Maya. In the stack SE of Skeet Shoot is one worker; we have a Settler under the Beserk W of Skeet Shoot.

The biggest question for the next turn is the Mayan Crusader: where will it attack on the IBT? The wounded vMace is certainly tempting, but it may head from Coba, which is still empty.

Under the Musket Army is Canute II, now at 9/12.

Canute II can take one more Beserk. However, that means it cannot be shipped overseas until we get Transports, which would be midway through the next Age.

We built five new cities in this area and have three more ready to build. Utica had a lot of workers that I did not see until late in the turnset. I think our military conquest is going well but we needed some research help. These cities will give us that help.

We've got one stack of 14 slaves that can road and irrigate a tile in one turn. Another stack of 8 and 6 slaves that can irrigate and road one tile each per turn.



Other Items
We will connect to Caughnawaga in two turns.

We have 10 workers and 2 slaves out on the west part of our land, busy adding roads to mountains and hills. We have 5 mountains left to road and one city spot to fill in the far west and one hill near Gold Mine 2.

We have 3 workers near Morning Mood by Grieg; I was planning for them to road the forest 2NE of the city.

We have 2 hills near St. Regis to road, one near I was here, another near Furs and one last hill near Kara's Joke. Excepting for new land claimed by new cities, those are all the hills left to road.

After Physics, due in 2, we still lack 3 techs to leave the Middle Ages: Banking, Magnetism and Theory of Gravity. Which puts us 4 techs away from Steam Power and rails.

I haven't sent any units down to claim Ganges, SW of Tyendenaga. Maya is the bigger threat. Plus, it is surrounded by 4 Jungle and 4 Coastal tiles. Hard to get to and nowhere to go once you arrive. Let it wait.

We may need to keep a close eye out for Mayan Caravels or Galleons, 3 or 4 Cavs in our lightly defended heartland would be very bad, at least until we get Steam Power. Looks like a good turn-set. Our next army needs to be Muskets for pillaging their Saltpeter, those Cavalries need stopped.

So what are we aiming for: Domination or Conquest?
 
Domination might be quicker.
 
Personally, I dont think we will be able to win by conquest, we just have'nt got the speed, and from scouting in my turnset, I have found several small Islands :sad:

Domination might be best.

As a Side-note, I do feel we are playing a pseudo-Demigod here, with all the AI against us, the Restrictions and the map setting
 
I think Conquest would be possible, except that we would have to have Marines or we put units on the 1-tile islands so that the AI can't use them.

The question would be who to attack after our initial land mass is secure: Korea or India? I think I would favor Korea, since they have been nice and isolated.

This one seems to have frozen. Are we still interested? I think we are well on the way to winning, so I'd hate to see it die at this point.

What a mere (nearly) 5 weeks since you posted the save. BTW Rodent, it is not really like a DG as you do not see any real pressure or the number of units. it is just slow going with one move units.

Lots of worker stacks need Ordering. We also need lots of new Workers for Railing up.

If we control our continent next turn, who do we focus on?

I think I favor taking out Korea, but it depends on where our units are located. Without rails, it is now a very long walk from one end of Scandanavia to the other.

I'm toying with idea of a max run at Steam Power, just to get rails. That will help us get new units into boats so that they can sail overseas on the turn they (the units) are built; no more waiting 10 turns for them to walk into battle.

A lot will depend on how the world looks once I open the save. Right now I am just engaging in speculation and dreams. :crazyeye:
 
I have a 14-unit force in Trondheim just for that purpose. 2 Galleons and Caravel are present for Transport.

We will want to send 30 units. Our core is working on Improvements, but that can be changed just for a little while.

The War with Korea is not Crucial.
 
Korea should mostly be easy to take with Berserks, since all but 2-3 cities are coastal. A max run on Steam Power sounds good, the sooner the better. Get that tech for me and I will rail like crazy, I have a knack for railing fast, I find railing to be oddly calming. It must be my inner OCD coming out;) Organize the workers in multiples of six (unless you are Industrious) for best results. Before RP, you'll want 6 natives or 12 slaves for railing teams, try not to mix and match. I'm sure you guys know that, so I look forward to nicely organized railing teams to work with:)
