Askia the Brute, Of the Problems of Zealots and Women
Songhain had gained much, Europe was indeed rich. However Culture is an issue as the allegance of Agustus was lost
Askia pnodered this as Agustus simply shrugged his shoulders and hte Songhai researched gunpowder.
Once again the emphasis of the empire was military as rich lands were seen to the east the over the channel. The English and Irish lasses intrigued Askia who hd become bored with Isabella.
Yet there was one issue still to be resolved.
Askia had the money and time to consider his next move was needed. The French had been knocked out which was the main emphasis.
With access to the pyramids, Askia opened up the privalege of representation to the Songhai
providing they were still theocratic vassals providing superior troops.
The great general from the French war was settled in teh Port of Joaoa as a launching pad for a furture navy.
And as Stalin kept the Chinese continually busy, Askia friend the Arab initiated an interesting situation
The Germans and Holy Romans were now busy to the SouthEast. Even better CHarlemagne took this opportunity to break loose from his vassalage to Bismark.
And while Askia was looking towards the ladies on the British isels, this was toon great an opportunity to pass up.
Holy Charles of the Holy Romans issued curses upon the Songhai promising all Songhai the bitter flames of hell.
The Holy Roman capital fell fast
Unfortunately the Zealot Charles was more interested in spreading his Buddhist faith than actually construcing a shrine for the mor eimportant task of bringing in gold. However, the COlossus was a nice addition.
Still, Askia was ticked and directed the army to reclaim Rome.
Agustus strolled up to Askia rather arrogantly and said "What kept you".
At first Askia was irate, but he smiled, laughed, and embraced Agustus as a brother.
"Now", Askia asked Agustus, "What should be done with the Zealot who now hides in the western hills?.
Charlemagne has one city left, but had a big tech advantage. In the interest of solidifying the Songhai empire further, Askia offered
VASSALAGE! The holy Roman had too many techs to simply throw away and Prague offers a nice blocking city against the western foes.
However, Charlemagne was a broken fellow, crying on the ground then looking up to the heavens asking why the holy BUddha had deserted him (OK, don't start the Buddha's not a god discussion again, I know, I know). Askia shrewdly stroked his beard with an idea dawning.
He picked up the broken Charlemagne off the ground, placed his arm arround his shoulders, and told him about the glories he can still bestow on the Buddha by constructing a shrine. Holy Charles beamed and swore an allegance to Askia as the holy messanger of the Buddha (ignoring the plain fact the Songhai was still distinctly Hindu) and a promise to get a Great Prophet to one day build the Buddhist shrine.
Askia could not get away fast enough, his head spinning from the pious ramblings of Holy Charles, so he ordered Agustus to keep watch on the Zealot, visited Isabella for some R and R, and ignored the taunts the Frenchman was directing towards Germany.
Immediately after arriving at Isabella's castle, he was interrupted by a parade of new leaders.
None seamed particularly powerful, technologically advanced, or wealthy. He ignored them all, directed research towards Chemistry and finally met with teh Spanish lady.
The next day Askia was ready for more trading
The map was extremely useful, giving Askia a great view of the lands
Askia came to the conclusion that he ruled too much desert and not enough Europe.
The Veterans of the Holy Roman wars were loaded into the Galley navy for the upcoming
