Good to have a foothold in resource rich Europe.
Those longbows are going to hurt, though.

However, askia is not exactly the best planner or smartest (hence why he's a Civ V leader and not a Civ IV leader).
It's not the threat those civs pose that sends mad north, but the opportunity. A large number of small weak civs in an area of particularly fertile ground is an amaxing place to expand. There is little challange in each Civ, and you can begin a snowball effect as you gain more and more good land. The more he conquers there, the more powerful he'll be against the larger civs in asia and africa.

I've been playing along, and imo he should have gone eastward as there are an abundance of floodplains to cottage after killing Rameses, Gilgamesh and Hammurabi (I didn't see anything about not setting down cottages) and quite a few happiness resources that way, plus he'd have to deal with a lot less cultural pressure, not to mention he gets the benefit of not having to slowly ferry his troops across the Mediterranean. That and he takes out a few techers along the way, which makes the game easier in the long-run.
Adding the Beautiful Ramesses to Askia's Harem??? Please, Askia is not that kind of guy. Also I am disappointed to find the deterstable Stalin in charge of Russia instead of Catherine.
I guess Askia is limited to the British isles now if he wants to find more women!
