Role Play Challenge, TNG: Attila the Hun, the Barbarian King

Attila the Hun, Preparing the Assault on Civilization
The huns prepared for the upcoming wars. Barracks were built and archers trained to defend cities as the Huns learned to harvest fish from the sea.

Atilla met the next leader

AttilaB0000.jpg

The American proved no better then Darius, only interested in commerce/gold/technology. Soon enough Hun steel steel would be the only thing MAnsa would see, Speaking of which the next technology researched was Iron Working even though Attila claimed the southern copper with one city.

AttilaB0001.jpg

AttilaB0005.jpg

During this time diplomacy was key until axes and possibly swords could be built. Kublai made demands

AttilaB0002.jpg

Attila is willing to sacrifice his pride for the Huns, bu he shall have his vengence. In fact this meant that somewhee alphabet was known.

AttilaB0003.jpg

Darius follows through on his desires for technology, getting to an advantage.

Another leader was met

AttilaB0004.jpg

A confused old man, indecisive of his heritage but considered German.

After iron working Attila finds

AttilaB0006.jpg

A good surce in the center of Hun lands. A mine is built and axes started.

Next Atilla met Hyuna of Rome

AttilaB0007.jpg

And Hammurabi of Egypt.

Soon the knowledge of Alphabet is spread almost everywhere except Hun lands

AttilaB0009.jpg

And Attila finally makes a trade for Pottery and writing.

AttilaB0010.jpg

The Huns obviously have sailing and masonry now.

Graneries sould of moderate interest but Libraries are forbidden.

AT this point the first Hun army is built to begin reclaiming lands form this "Civilization".

AttilaB0011.jpg

Attila also has refused open borders with any leader. Extra commerce is not worth the costs of espionage and Attila plans to keep the continent cut in half.

Cities are not doing roo badly

AttilaB0012.jpg

And the game was saved here, with the Hun on the verge of attacking the CHinese of Julius CAesar.

But seriously you should youtube yourselves please Sir

I am a bit older folks and youtubing my Civing is not gonna happen.

The Hun assault on Civilization has begun, a really minor skirmish, and I should post the segment tonight.

Attila the Hun, The Initial Skirmish

Attila was in mid-sentence to give his troops the go ahead and invade Julius' CHina when he was rudely interupted.

AttilaC0000.jpg

He slapped GW and through him out, onto more important matters

AttilaC0001.jpg

OK JC, time to meet your maker! Note during all this time we have yet to open borders with anyone. We like cutting the world off!

JUst as the Hun army moves West research on

AttilaC0002.jpg

is finished. Too bad the horses are not on-line yet.

Research began on MAth and COnstruction as The Hun army moved along.

But first

AttilaC0003.jpg

ARGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Stupid new civilizations sprouting up like weeds. Well Attial will take his scythe of hunninsh steel to these weeds.

As the Hun army went arround the heavily defended hillTop Chinese city to pillage iron, Julius unleashed his troops against the Hunnish homeland

AttilaC0004.jpg

(Note the Hun army 1 SW of Guangzhou and the approaching CHinese army).

Some troops were held back to defend cities and the forrests daring Julius to attack. The cowardly CHinese spent it's time marching arround doing nothing while we attacked the CHinese city.

AttilaC0005.jpg

as the marading Hun army swarmed the conquered city, an inventory of the infrastructure was quickly made.

AttilaC0006.jpg

Guangzhou has progressed in true Hun fashion, Attila is pleased and the few strangler citizans allowed to live and prosper. Julius name is quickly cursed and Guangzhouians enjoy some hedonitic pleaseures as the city remains in chaos for a while.

And while Attila refuses to open borders, he has no quarlms with making appropriate trades.

AttilaC0007.jpg

AttilaC0008.jpg

What do we care that we give others Horse archers, w will kill anyone that comes near us.

Another new leader shows up

AttilaC0009.jpg

Attila thinks this an open minded civilzation with a lady leader until he finds her true personality and tosses the tramp out cemented her eniminity.

Another new leader appears

AttilaC0010.jpg

Who gives the outward appearance of a Hunnish character but is nohting but a Civilized dog.

Trades continue

AttilaC0011.jpg

AttilaC0012.jpg

AttilaC0013.jpg

As the war moves on

AttilaC0014.jpg

Julius has regrouped his troops into some sort of pathetic offense to retake Guangzhou, so Attila orders the entire army to retreat except a shock promoted axeman. Julius loses a significant porttion of the army at the hands of the glorious Hun Axeman who gave his life.

AttilaC0015.jpg

At this point a counter-counter attack on Guangzhou was made resulting in

AttilaC0016.jpg

A recaptured city, a decimated CHinese army, and a Great General.

AttilaC0017.jpg

Who took up shop in Constantinople.

Peace was made with Julius

AttilaC0018.jpg

AS Attila prepared Horse archers and catapults for a future war with Julius.

In fact, the fool CHinese leader attacked another nation.

AttilaC0021.jpg

Attila built his army, appointed himself King of the HUns, and waited his time.

A final trade

AttilaC0022.jpg

And the last technology

AttilaC0023.jpg

We saved here, researching currency for a bit of economy and trade bait before moving onto Fuedalism.

So time to build up a fast force with HAs and catapults and pound Julius a bit more. Soon the HUns can move onto constant warfare, but Attila is enjoying messing with the world by keeping his borders closed to Civilization.

Yep, only because the youth of today doesn't any longer know how to read properly or to use a book (something made of paper, folks !) doesn't mean we have to clog youtube more than it already is :D

Most of the youth of today. I'd read a book rather than watch a Youtube video any day, and I'm 14. :D

Nice update BTW, MS. :)

:agree:

Though I’m 15 going on 16. But it is a similar principle.

I'm moved to tears - and I'm going on the magical number of 42. That proves my theory that cIV-players are the only hope for the future of human...well, civilization ;)

No, it’s just people from Australia/New Zealand. ;) :joke:

Wohoo!

I am 48 going on 15 myself!

Just finished an off-line epic game so I'll play teh next segment tonight. The nice thing about teh warring RPCs is that it's very simple and easy to slip back into them.

While nobody would mistake me for being young at 27, I went through some speed reading training as a kid and kept doing it as I went through school (creating a lot of time for most of my schooling where I went home w/o homework after high school)...until I could read at 2x + the speed of my fellow graduate students a few years back (this is also partly why I'm so active on forums is that I can easily cover large amounts of text in short times).

Old or young is no excuse, not for reading/writing and not for video ;). Video is very easy to do on a technical side of things nowadays, so it's really whether someone wants to do the commentary.

Now, madscientist, if you merely prefer not to do video for whatever reason (commentary too draining, bad machine specs, etc) that's one thing, but nobody gets to use age as an excuse ;).

Also, if one has a short attention span, good command of hotkeys, etc it's also possible to keep tabs on youtube and forums simultaneously. I alt tab switch a lot waiting for things that sound interesting on youtube...

I'm 20 myself, so I don't know if I still count as young, but I've always been quite the bookworm. (And not from Oceania!)

Ok TMIT, you got me! Yes I could do it, but opt NOT to. I prefer building the story through screenshots and commentary. It is recreational for me afterall.

And yes, you are young at 27 in my book. Anyone who learned computers in high scholl through a keyboard rather then punch cards in young in my book:old:

Also, my oldest daughter wants to be a writier and does an enormous amount of it both at a computer and in a notebook. Reads a lot on-line and on the printed page (no ibook for her).

But, here now what's all this talk of reading, youtubing, and other high thoughts. Are we not Huns? We should be burning all this stuff down (speaking of which I better get back to work).

After all, we can't build/we have to raze all of the buildings that contain the thingies that contain words...called books I believe? Being a Hun, I've never seen one of them. (Not really, I love books)

And that's how it should be with cIVing.

Anyone not familiar with 5,25" Floppy Disks, MS-DOS 2.x or telephones attached to a wall and with a cable (!) is at least a bit green :D

So your daughter uses the best of both worlds, encourage her in keeping that habit :goodjob:
I'm writing myself and of course I do the main work on my box. But the best ideas are still scribbled on paper, with an ordinary pen.
Paper has some advantages: no power source is required, the user interface is quite simple and it won't crash with a BSOD ever :D

But, here now what's all this talk of reading, youtubing, and other high thoughts. Are we not Huns? We should be burning all this stuff down (speaking of which I better get back to work).

Yeah, show the youngsters (and me) how to burn down an enemy the old-fashioned way

Next segment has been played and I will post tomorrow.

City razing, backstabbing, and preparations for a defense of the HUns from the onslaught of civilization?
