Role Play Challenge, TNG: Julian Assange, WikiCivilization

What? No rule about leaving your resources unprotected?

You start with crabs and bever and have a deer next to you. How very . . .

Oh, the UU is a vulture and the UB a courthouse, I see you don't miss a trick.

Now I just did not realize the possibilies of that opening at first, but WOW! Couldn't ask for more but with crabs arround can CAtherine be far off....

We start with hunting, so food and happiness right away.

SO how does Julian proceed here folks???

Good thing we start with food and happiness, I have a feeling the whole world is out to get us now and it might be slim pickings from here on in.

I think Julian proceeds by going underground, jumping from island to island, hoping to avoid going north and praying he doesn't see the Americans. Are you sure he isn't Charismatic and Industrious? Creative maybe? The UB a Broadcast Tower that makes all enemy cities lose 1 happiness? The UU an elephant (in the room)?

This was supposed to be in response to the joke of Mec AntiKythera... Alas, he posted another post, and as such, I have added this sentence to explain. :P

I don't get it...

Well, um, let's see if I can....

Julian has a certain reputation about certain, well, "faults" when it comes to the ladies.

Now there is the UB of Courthouses where he is to be expected to spend a good amount of time for those, issues.

Then there is the UU vulture, a disgusting bird that preys upon the weak and unprotected, sort of like a guy who sees a helpless lady, nevermind.

There there is the "deer" resource, a helpless female animal waiting for the great stag (I don't mean Bambi here).

Then there is the beaver, and I am not going into anymore detail there.

And of course the "crabs", a medical problem that can be associated with, say vultures preying too much on helpless deer....

Is it Clearer?

Mec AntiKythera... Alas, he posted another post
Yeah, I get that a lot.

Thanks for fielding the question Mad, I was still looking for an approach.

Let's do mention that he is accused of having certain traits, he has yet to have his day in Ziggurat.

I was looking foward to this RPC! I think i might shadow this too.I've never tried turning the slider off after alphabet before, so this will be intresting to shadow. I presume the GW will be important for the Espionage points?

The Great wall is not that important as I set it up. Zigs require only priesthood (which I will tech before alphabet), are discounted from the ORG trait, allow a spy specialist, and Julian is philosphical. I bet I can get a Gspy out faster building a Zig than the Great Wall.

I was waiting for some kind espionage game :) I am weak at playing this type of games, so eagerly will observe this thread (as well as former games from classic RPC)

So we have ONE rule in this RPC

1) The science slider is turned OFF at alphabet. The culture slider can only be used when happiness is an issue.

Are there any restrictions to "gold slider" - meaning are we allowed to turn all the sliders completely off?

?

We can use the gold slider as much as we want. If Julian wants to get enormous wealth via the slider and buy techs that is certainly fine, however I think espioange is more efficent and truer to the RPC spirit.

are you supposed to take alphabet as soon as possible in tech trade? I don't think forcing yourself to teching it in some form of beeline would be much fun, but just put some limit for abusing not taking it.

I expect to research alphabet after the major worker/structure techs are done. That means getting pottery/writing/priesthood/sailing and possibly a defensive tech like IW and/or HBR depending on the situation. I do plan to get alphabet before something like Aesthetics or math.

I hope one of the AIs prioritizes banking, and you manage to nab the mids.

Would love to see you run merc to allow a rep spy specialist in every city.

4:espionage:, 4:science:, tons of Gspy GPPs = yum!

Julian Assange, WikiCivilization: The beginning steps

The people of the wandering tribe WikiSummeria setup camp on the desolate hill, waiting for the pale white haired leader. An odd person this leader, smart, but with a personality noone can figure out and a presence that can described as, well, just odd. Still the men followed him without question, but the women.....

They avoided the leader, both his presence and his looks. Yes, ODD!

Julian looked across the sea and started talking,

"Good people, there is much here we can use. The mighty river flows beneath out spread out feet, with beavers aplenty to our right, and lovely helpless deer waiting to our left. Beware the ocean right now good people, for crabs can be quite "unpleasant" if not properly cleaned first, perhaps we should learn how to handle those "unclean creatures. But let me not go on too long, please settle right here on this majestic hill."

Julian gave them a strange look, but then order the warrior to go an explore a bit. A native hut was nearby, after looking at the leader they threw 52 gold at him and fled in horror. Julian only smiled.

The Summerians began researching hunting to trap the beavers and harvest the deer. Next, fishing was researched to deal with the "crabs".

The city of Wiki-Uruk had lot's of early production and a worker was begun quickly.

The warrior was rather proficient in exploration, showing a good map of the region

JAA0002.jpg

Stone is off to the east, something to consider for some wonders. But first things first.

A new leader is met

JAA0003.jpg

Montezuma had a crazed look in his eye, however after talking with Assange for a bit and hearing his endless questions about how he acquired the human skull on his head, and the procedure, the Persian Montezuma found a million excuses to leave.

The next leader was

JAA0004.jpg

DeGaulle of the Ottomans. Assange began asking this new leader about the size of his proboscis, how is measures relative to his people, and are there any woman since his tribe is called the Ottomans. DeGaulle left abruptly.

The next leader

JAA0005.jpg

Suliman of Rome started many questions about what exactly in under his hat.

Julian has a very good habit of getting leaders off-balance and cautious.

After a few more warriors produced, Julian had a good view of the southern lands

JAA0006.jpg

Yes pigs and mighty elephants with their extra large appendages.

The final leader met

JAA0007.jpg

Hatshepsut of the Dutch happily greated Julian until he replied simply with a very long, blinkless stare. After a few minutes, the queen blanched, excused herself and fled quickly. Julian simply laughed to himself although the Summerian women seamed pleased to find his attention was directed elsewhere.

With so many leaders, Julian needed information and here he excelled. Clapping his hands he ordered his special agents to begin "investigating" only the crazed Persian

JAA0008.jpg

Research went along the path of mining/Bronze working/Masonry now.

As Masonry is reaserched, WikiSummeria is constructing a settler with the idea of claiming some valuable lands

JAA0010.jpg

Many options here, the settler is finished and sent south, the next item to research

JAA0011.jpg

Here we saved, deciding where to go next.

First, where the second WikiSummeria city goes

JAA0012.jpg

I like the blue circled elephants.

Also, what to research next????

The full map

JAA0013.jpg

But I think the most important question is whether to commit WikiUruk to conctruct the Great Wall with chopping help from the worker, or develope the nation more with roads and settlers???

Julian likes the idea of the Great wall, not really to keep barbarians out as to keeping "people" inside......

I woulda settled near the stone first. However, if you are settling south, which is a good city, settle 1NE of the copper. It has more food for a decent production city.

Yay, New RPC!

I'd settle the hill between the gold and the silk. It lacks production, but has the potential to get a lot of commerce.
