Role Play Challenge: Wang Kon the non-Isolated Isolationist

About BUGs 3.0, can someone post the link and I will consider looking at it.

About the internet, there is more than just spaceship parts. There was assuring military tech parity. Beside going from behind 10 techs to being sole tech leader has certainly gotta help our chances of winning!

Mining Inc was already founded, plus I would have had to spread it arround. Just as easy to launch a GA.

OK, I downloaded it/installed it. Seams a littel complex to me but alot of good stuff so far. I see how it would help on micromanagement and that it would be more informative on posting RPCs. So as it does not change rules and it would help the RPC followers, I think I'll keep it.

THANKS!

Yeah, the BUG mod is a very useful tool. I always seem to forget to upload the mod whenever I start games though, but when I do use it I really like it.

I don't think corps are worth it if you can't trade for resources. You'd only get very few hammers, still costing lots of gold.

Horray for the internet securing victory. Sounds kinda like Real Life, eh?

Anyways, can't wait for the next one.

I'm not convinced. Most of those 10 techs were completely irrelevant, except for increasing your score, and could be picked up by building the internet during, or even after, the space race.

Given that you had oil and rifling, the prerequisites to the internet include infantry, tanks, and destroyers -- so unlocking cavalry, grenadiers, and ships of the line is no help at all. The only useful military technology you got was artillery, but you would have self-researched that ages ago if you were researching for a space-race rather than an internet beeline.

Quite honestly, given that pre-internet tech-status picture, I would have said you were already the leader. IMHO The technology that you had monopoly knowledge greatly exceeded the (relevant) knowledge the rest of the world combined had that you were lacking.

I LOVE the internet. Its a great gambit. If you beeline it, it will ALWAYS give you things like Rocketry, Biology Refrigeration, Fascism, and all those old techs and warring techs you dont go for in a space. Its just beautiful and completely under-rated in my opinion.

Sorry, but it doesn't ALWAYS work that way! If you're competing with one other fast-teching civ with a bunch of tech losers trailing behing (SB, Shaka, Monty, Brennus, you know who they are :) ), you can get dog-meat from the internet (like Divine Right and little else, as I commented earlier in this thread). In a competitive tech game it works great, however, and I usually go for it.

@Mad

Great job, mein Fuhrer.... um, Mad Scientist. :lol: Let's see the next RPC tribute!

A well played game, being financial paid off then!

Its always worth building the internet even if only to stop an AI getting it, it might not give you any useful techs but it might be the thing that gives you an edge in a very close game

which leader is up next?
