It's on marathon, so every city needs 150'000 culture to become legendary.
 
Nicely done, but I still think you should have hit superconductors to build the Labs. the 25% science and 50% spaceship production,is too good to pass up.

Just using the 25% science while awaiting the space ship production is worth it.

Also it sends you through the media wonders earlier, and the value of supermarkets with 1 extra base food, is worth it.

In anycase, your well on the way to a space race victory. well done :goodjob:

Seems like you don't even need the internet (although you may as well continue once you get in position to build it). Only 2 civs up a meaningful tech on you, and you are up on them to the tune of assembly line or electricity + industrialism, radio, plastics, computers, all of which are more expensive.

Success!!!!! Yes Financial Korea was just enough to get the RPCs back on teh winning side! And the internet is just way overpowered!!!

We immediately started on Apollo in teh IW city and built up any last production/lab business. ALL Korean cities are going to be working on this thing as we are likely to have MOST techs before we finish Apollo.

We did have ALOT of espionage issues and AI missions. We also got that event from the AI that let to city unrest

Brutal, we lost three towns there!!!! We ended up sending spies into Bablylon/Ottoman every 30 turns for counter missions.

Hammarabi adopting Toaism was plain stupid, and Suliman went after him, although a short war.

And after Satellites we can actually see the world map, first time we see anything beyond the Korean Border.

Complete tech domination late. Considering we never opened a foreign trade route, went to war once, and never traded a single tech or resource. That is pretty damned amazing if I say so myself!!!!

Thanks to all for following the RPC! Recap will follow and I will think about the next RPC. One I think with little/no restrictions on trade/diplomacy though!
 
Korean RPC recap!!!

RPC rules:
1) Not rading/open borders: Wow was this tough! At least early on. Tech we dragged real bad.
2) Limited warring. Certainly piling on at least Hamarabi, and also Suliman would have made things very easy. But that's not RPC style! we simply ignored the wrold and went to space, that was enough.

Why we won

1) There is one major reason we won, CE!!! Pure and simple, those boring/dull/fragile cottages turnsed into massive towns that improved the economy as we went along. And we never needed US to work it. I hope Dave find my CE game acceptible!!!
2) Smart use of the GSs. No bulbing here with the inability to trade techs. We had an academy in SEVEN cities: Seoul/P'Yongyang/Pusan/Sythian/Nidros/Birka/Upsala! Plus we adopted FR early and had the Korean UB! SO before labs each city had a +145% boost to beakers not including OXFORD in Seoul of the Monestaries pre-SM!
3) Early city placement: This was key and avoided alot of early conflicts. Cutting off the continent with 3 well placed cities and finishing it off with a captured Barb city.
4) Eliminating Ragnar AND being Protective. Yes protective was as key in this RPC as financial. Ragnar completely suicided his army going against our protective archers, allowing us to take him down quickly.
5) We did not panic!!! We kept teching at a consistent intelligent path primarily for economic techs while adding military as needed.
6) We really got over the hump when we got physics first and the free GS!
7) Of course the internet completely assured our victory!

One final comment about Korea. They ar ethe unltimate turtling cvilization I think. Financial with such a strong UB. Plus most of the time when I play Korea I build academies with GSs from Scientist specialists. This seams to be a very strong part of their game, very little if any Wondering. Korea is about CE/Academies/strong defense!

I LOVE the internet. Its a great gambit. If you beeline it, it will ALWAYS give you things like Rocketry, Biology Refrigeration, Fascism, and all those old techs and warring techs you dont go for in a space. Its just beautiful and completely under-rated in my opinion.
 
Yeah, especially as the PLE now actually make sense and are easy to use! BUG 3.0 is really great [party]

I'm not convinced about this! You said yourself:

One wonders if you could not have done much better by researching the spaceship technologies yourself, thus getting an earlier start on your spaceship. You could probably have still scored biology/medicine by building the internet while building spaceship parts.
 
With the GE from Fusion, I wonder if you had considered Mining Inc. A nice boost to production and possibly some extra culture on the borderlands. Just curious (or was it founded already)?
