And really, its not technically wrong... the whole play is Shakey's fault...

I suppose I do understand the fear that blaming Shakespeare could be a cop out and the assignment was to focus on this as if it were real life events. But, these people are supposed to be star-crossed to this fate, presumably by God. And Shakespeare, in writing this episode, is God.
