Up north laid the reign of Ladejarlen, which centered itself in Trondheim and consisted of todays Trøndelag and Nordland. Also the small state of the Mørejarl were still ruled by itself. And north of the Trønderjarls realm were the sami nomads. Said in another way, all Hairfair ever ruled were some earlier Danish vassals in the south, in that era called Norway
