Scenario Project: Assyrian Empire

the 3 months trial is free.. just google: download+Paint Shop Pro

I got one which I thought was from Chieftess's sig, but its just shareware (not that its a big deal, because it did exactly what I wanted it to). Here's a version with cities and resources, if anyone has any suggestions, especially about city placements, please do.

After this point, and a few more tweaks (such as irrigation and roads), I'll be adding units and techs.

EDIT: Maybe I should have actually attached the file  :mischief:

Here are some changes I made.

Added cities:

Hittites:

Marqasi
Sam'al
Kullania

Hindana(Babylon)
Hakha(Elam)
Laish(Aram)
Artacoana(Media)
Sial(Media)

Changed cities:

Moved Aleppo one square down, it was not a Hittite city so I changed it to be Aramese. Hamath on the other was a Hittite city, so I changed that too.

Hey Louis - nice to see you managed to sort everything out in the end! ;) I just wish I had C3C so I could take a look at the completed scenario! :(

I'm sorry, but there isn't even much I could do to convert it to Vanilla Civ, because my original Civ3 editor isn't working properly.

But thanks for the bump, it gives me a little reminder to start working on this again. I'm still short on citylists for the Aramaeans, and possibly a few others.

It would be a shame to if this came to nothing.

I'm a bit challenged for 'Net access currently, but if I can help with anything (rule of thumb; if it's gfx, I can't, if it's not, I may be able to), I'd be happy to.

Though not chronologically precise, but probably close enough, you could add the Lydians and the Ionians to fill up Anatolia.

Also, weren't the Persians kicking around in southern Iran towards 800 BC? They could give the Medes some competition.

I'm considering the Persians and Medians the same peoples

I've also thought about the Lydians, but I think the space currently is fine. What I'm really missing is city-names, but I suppose that really shouldn't be holding me back, I'll worry about it for final release, though.

Any help to locate the Assyrian leaderhead would be most welcome. Could not find it in the Gfx library...

Which helps me "bump" this thread as well. :)

Fine, I guess I'll work on it :p

I'll dig out my old files (haven't worked on it in a little while), and see if there are some new files to add. The next step is a tech tree, although the city list is not done, I figure I should get some kind of Beta out eventually.

As for an Assyrian leaderhead, there are two options that I know of. One is the Gilgamesh leaderhead, the other is Drift's Ashurbanipal leaderhead.

I'm looking for units that would fit well in the scenario. I'm wondering if you could help me out. A unit that I really want is some kind of generic levy infantry. It doesn't need to be anything too specific, just some unit with no armor, holding a spear. I'll see if I can find a picture of what I mean.

Err... I guess you have already checked Steph's Chariots of War conversions... ?
Which means you don't like them.

Then no, for that place and time I don't see much...

I got about 11 units.

I have checked out Steph's conversion and, although it fills many needs, it is true I'm not a big fan of them. I'll go look over them again and see if I want to use any.

I'm working on the tech tree now. If you have any ideas, let me know ;)

You can check out my old Persia scenario for tech tree ideas, I had some pretty generic techs afaik.

Anyone have any idea what to call a courthouse, or should I just leave it at courthouse (I'll work on the tech tree tommorow, and I might even finish it, since its only one era).

Haven't forgotten about this. I just don't feel like learning how to do techs ;)
