Ok i know there aren't any and it's not possible to make one at the moment. This sucks!
I expect that Firaxis should just allow us to download a add-on scenario editor.
I am in no way going to pay money. Already spent $50.
I just what the Firaxis guys who are sometiems here too know. Make it downloadable or i'll be really pissed off.

Sorry just had to say that. ;)

:crazyeyes I'm not even buying the game without scenario editor lol (and both together have to be for prize of normal game, MP too would definately be good but not allimportant [altought seem to come as first add-on] as long as editor will be good)

But I expect firaxis act like before and bringing both MP and scenario editor+scenarios as separate, non downloadable add-ons/expansion packs. :p

If that really happens I just have to wait for gold edition (or for someone to sell his civ3 and add-ons cheap) to get what they promissed for correct prize.:p

Scenrios were one of my favorite things to do with civ 2. I even made a few myself. But now.... no way to play them or make them and no cheat menu to nuke some cities turn 2 if you get bored  I agree with a downloadable cheat menu patch or scenario maker.

hey, you are supposed to be beta-tester, so don't complain about missing standard features like multiplayer or editor :-)

For myself, starting this year for the rest of my life I will never buy any software missing standard features and I refuse to pay for standard features in add-ons. Allthough I like civ3 I feel cheated somehow cause it was the most expensive game I have bought for 3 years or so and it offers no multiplayer.

Btw. Multiplayer rules and I am back to games where I have this (standard) feature.

I really hope Firaxis will offer Multiplayer for free download somewhen! (allthough I don't expect this)

Its all about money. They can make far more cash if they offer the game in tiny pieces and such. Since the Civilization name is a pretty famous one, they know that people will pay. So what it boils down to is Capitalism...

So here is my proposal on what we should do about it...

Lets first all make military alliances against Firaxis and agree upon rights of passage. Then we do a TRADE EMBARGO!

or we could just nuke their offices with a few tacts with the subs ive got sitting of the coast .. ha

Seriously though, if a company came out with a civ clone that really measured up i would switch in a heartbeat.(yes this is turning into a rant, sorry) Although I enjoy civ3 it hasn't been like crack for me like civ2 was as well as many other games. So as for me, as soon as another game company releases something that can challenge civ3(and i hear about a ctp2? which ctp 1 sucked but i bought it for 15 bucks and enjoyed it.) ill ditch firaxis and go with someone else.

but what i wish would really happen........

we should ban together and make our own damn civ game (i wrote a whole post but i deleted it and will move it to start a new thread in general discussions)

I'd like to have a scenario-making feature now, but I'm taking this rationally -- I'm still playing Civilization 3 very religiously without whining about what it lacks.

Good things come to those who don't piss and moan about things they don't have.

The lack of a scenario editor seems to be the single biggest complaint about the game on these forums and over at Apolyton.

Personally, I didn't play scenarios much, so I don't miss them.

I think the best thing for you all to do is to provide Fireaxis with feedback via official channels and know that they'll read it.

Multiplayer is coming, and I'm sure that a scenario editor is too. I'm not big on either, so I don't think I'll be buying it if and when it does come out, if that's all that the expansion pack provides.

Sadly, expansion packs and games being released needing a patch are common. Those of you who can't do without are well advised to play Civ 2 until the hoped for gold edition arrives. Or don't, whatever. But you'll be missing out on a pretty good game.

trade embargo will be the most effective.

Someone said before "it's all about money", and thats true.

I honestly can accept that companies making good games do make good money. However, often they are not trying to make the game as good as possible or including all standard features in order to maximize their profit by selling small pieces. That's when I feel cheatet.

We customers can decide as well. If they don't offer you a complete package to us (it doesn't matter if you miss multiplayer, the editor or something else) why should YOU PAY THE FULL PRICE or buy it at all?

Just say no! and play something else. You will see how quickly they will react.
