SCH0003 - Exploring The Arcane

I'll post the report later today. I was without internet since late friday until now.
 
Finally found the patch to play this. Sorry for the long delay.

Well, I went for mining, eager to search for copper, but it turns out there's no copper on our borders, but there was copper on Faeryl's borders. So i decided to declare war on her.



We had some warriors doing nothing at the start of this set of turns, so I decided to put good use to them. I also switched us to godking/apprenticeship on turn two.

On the state of foreign affairs, Sheelba declared war on Ethne, so we can later join in on the fun against Sheelba, but I think we should prioritize settling on the copper to get an okish city. I set a settler on the placeholder, but you guys are welcome to change the build for more warriors so we can crush Faeryl. Her score went down badly. Btw, Cardith is running away on score, what are the odds of him declaring on us?



Sheelba asked us to join against Ethne, said no. Same thing I said to Ethne when she asked for our help against Sheelba. Let the catfight drag on.

I haven't made peace with Tasunke, but it's possible to do so. It's up for the next player to give it a try. I set Uderanat to build the brewing house, considering our lack of happy resources, getting that done should be a priority.



The glorious sacking of Gereth Minar gave us enough gold to keep feeding our deficit. I think a war econ could be manageable on the short run. Once Faeryl dies, we can go after Sheelba. Or we can try to make peace with Faeryl, grab us some copper & then go after her or Sheelba. I started on Bronze Working for axes. There's only a single turn of research. I'll leave for the next guy to manage.

Now, one embarrasing detail... I have not yet installed the patch (I am in an OB-sg with .34, so I just kept that and didn't patch to .40)... Has anyone got a link to it? :blush:
 
hey all, just a little update on everything.
I'm following this game from my mac/ipod but my PC, unfortunately, has yet to be repaired. Something MAY happen within the next week, so I'll keep everyone posted
 
I will begin patching now. I will not be able to play until tomorrow evening. If this is not acceptable, by all means, someone post a got it...
 
... I played some turns until Bronze Working, nothing of real interest happened. I haven't seen any Hippus units, but I was attacked by a Svartalf Hunter, losing 2 Warriors. Another one died to scout the Sartalf capital. Faeryl has several Hunters (5/4 :strength:), so I decided against marching on her capital. She won't talk yet. We are building Settler/Brewery/Monument/Monument, all inherited builds, and I am thinking, we are at war with two nations, would we not want to build soldiers instead? Especially now that we have Bronze Working (sadly no Copper linked up yet as you know, I assume that is what the Settler is for)?

Thus, I stopped after nine turns. I can play more, but I need to hear the team: Are we building for war or peace here? Do we want to kill off the Svartalfar asap, or wait until after mages (and why have we picked BW before KotE? I assume we want to bulb it, so I chose no new tech to start on) to wrap em up.

Concerning Cardith, a Kuriotate settler party was spotted between Nimarail and the newly conquered city, but he turned around again.
 
We should build for peace if Faeryl already has Hunters. Once we get a few Swordsman, we can take her capital. It's a must we get a city on the copper. & yes, that's what the settler is for. You're free to play more turns.
 
Thanks. I will try to get em off tonite, pleading for peace with both Faeryl and Hippus... What techs do we want to aim for? KotE -> Elementalist?

Short summary: Played 9 turns. Barbs are beginning to be an annoyance from west, so I built 2 warriors while waiting for KotE. We are building a couple of workboats, but after that, we can get mages rolling, our conquered Svartalf city has begun building a Training Yard, and we have settled a city to grab the Copper.

Tasunke does not want peace, Faeryl wants her city back for peace. She lost a Hunter attacking us, nothing else happened really. We have a wounded Warrior with Combat, Shock and 11/10 exp. I suggest Combat II and then let him check the Dungeon in our lands out.

Techwise, we have KotE. I am split between Cartography (4 turns @100%) for OB (Cardith is boxed in and might attack despite Pleased) and City States civic, and Elementalism (16 turns @100%) for Fire... On the other hand our palace provides all the fire we need, so I suggest Cartography.

My apologies. RL intervened again, and this game's roster is generally so loose that I didn't know I was up. Do we even still have a roster?

Just one other game, if I'm correct. And I'm playing that one right now ;)
