Screenshot analysis!

Yup, I'd kind of liked them to get XP from explored tiles as well.. but it's fine if they get it from goody huts and what not.

I thought they did get XP for exploring. It was just more for discovering natural wonders.

I am pretty sure it's been discussed, but the "Scouts gain XP for finding wonders" thing is a nice touch.

I have the feel this replaces the global hapiness increase upon discovering a natural wonder, since there is no global happiness anymore.

Or it's just a no-brainer addition to the series. Military engagements with scouts are incredibly risky. The fact that they didn't generate exploration XP in some fashion before was just silly.

This is great, scouts getting xp through discovery. However, was it mentioned a scout gain xp if it's the first civ to discover the wonder, or any civ that discovered it regardless of who found it first can gain the xp through their scout?

Is it just me, or does Civ 6 map look very cartoon-like? The graphics looks even worse than Civ 5.

Where have you been? That's been discussed back and forth forever. I'm sure there's an old thread or two you can read about that somewhere.

I am getting the Civ 6 screenshots in my Facebook feed now. Reading the early comments just now, I see I am not alone in that assessment. Its a shame really. I would have thought they would have learnt from Civ 5 / BE.

It looks as if you can run the game on Intel's integrated graphics. And it makes no effort to show it can utilize the high-end graphics cards most desktop gamers have. i.e. it looks as if it is for casual gamers on basic laptops / tablets.

I am now playing "Armored Warfare" based of the Crytek graphics engine and the photo-realistic quality I see there with my 2 year-old graphics card (and I am sure in many other games), makes Civ 6 seem 'cheap'.

I don't WANT photo-realistic. Some people don't want that.

I prefer pretty art. Civilization has always been an abstraction already, so I am very happy to have an artistic representation of things.

Saying that they didn't "learn" from other games to make the game for you personally is rather pretentious.

Agreed. I've been playing since I, but I still don't want to have to buy a new computer just to play Civ.

exactly... if you look at a satellite picture of earth it looks like one peaceful world.....
In civ I want to know the borders of who I am at war with, I want to know whether that is a trading cargo van or a nuclear missile, I want to tell if that is a Bank or a Library or a Museum at a glance, and honestly, photo realistic versions of those would all look the same unless you could read the tiny lettering on them.

That too, lol.

Yes, usability is a big deal too.

Besides, I have other games if I want nitty-gritty. And I usually don't, because real life is nitty-gritty already.

By the way, that picture of Yosemite doesn't look that great to me. Perhaps its because of the angle of the half dome, or how smooth the grass looks. I remember Yosemite as being a gorgeous river valley, surrounded by the 2 mountains, which was then covered by an incredible forest.

This seems to have none of those lol

Part of the problem is that you're looking at screenshots. I was initially disappointed as well but after watching videos of gameplay it looks beautiful and smooth

Hahaha !! I'd be very very happy if I could run Civ 6 with my Intel's integrated GC !
I'd be even more happy if I could play such a complete game everywhere I want on a tablet... ;)

... but you're totally wrong (kinda sadly), It's still a good and complete game and the use of the word "looks" in your sentences is showing that you stop at first glance here.

Someone posted the PCGN #3 episode but I had missed the #2. It has a picture of a religion (not pantheon) screen at 7:13. I don't recall seeing that yet in this thread.
