Screenshot analysis!

I know God King is a very early game policy but I do hope it gets a buff. Right now, it seems utterly useless.

Its a pantheon without having to commit to building a holy site. An extra gold early on isn't nothing either - you can't build border expansion (well, not directly at least).

It can get you a pantheon without ever building a holy site or otherwise generating faith. I think it's fine for when it shows up, when it has exactly one competing policy.

I agree, I'll even go one further and say I think God King is extremely good, because securing that early pantheon can have huge implications on the game in the longer run.

Unless you are planning on building an early wonder (especially Stonehenge), I think it will be the default pick for the first economic policy. If you don't go for religion, it will get you a pantheon without spending a district on a Holy Site, and if you do go for religion, you can rush a Great Prophet with either of the extra gold or faith it provides.

Nice! Thanks for all of your hard word BTW!

Also, why is Preslav's symbol a turtle? I can find nothing about turtles in Bulgarian heraldry.

I am inclined to believe that Preslav's and Nan Madol's symbols are switched around. Old Bulgarian rosette amulet is basically what Nan Madol now has as its symbol.

Has someone noticed the spy unit in the Yogscast video? I wonder what is it's use.

I don't have a screenshot but you may see it on episode 5 of France video at 11:50

The Yogscast is at turn 72 at that point. There is no evidence that France gets spies earlier than anyone else (just an automatic next level of gossip with everyone) based on what has been revealed so far.

EDIT: Was pointed out France gets a Spy at Castles (the tech tree @ 7:11 has no spy icon in Castles so that UI doesn't reflect it yet). They complete Castles at 11:20.

The Firaxis Germany stream has a build menu at turn 68 (@ 1:05:00) that doesn't have the Spy. That might because it is more context sensitive than the previous menu or they've turned off espionage in that build (the espionage icon is missing in the top right main menu).

It appears as the last civilian unit after Settler, Builder and Trader, and before Scout, Spearman, etc. The order of those other units is the same in the later Firaxis video.

Errr, France gets a Spy when they unlock Castles.

Oh wow. Spies are back in their Civ 4 method? That's interesting.

Part of Catherine's ability is that she gets a Spy slot at Castles, which appears to be earlier than everyone else (pacing dependent, of course).

It seems to be like a blend of 4 and 5. Build the Spy, pick Spy actions like 5.

Don't forget about parts of the spies actions are similar to Beyond Earth. So a mix of civ 4, civ 5 and BE.

I did forget, because I gave up on BE quickly.

Which parts are those? The actual types of things you can do? I was just calling those new to Civ6

Here is the tooltip for the Spy:

Performs secret missions in foreign cities and protects your cities from enemy Spies.

Movement: 1
Cost: 201 Production

The build time is 10 turns. For comparison, the Settler is 5, the Builder is 2 and the Trader is 2 at that time.

So it will be costly for France to get them out that early.

Not yet, but that's a good idea.

When updating, you may also have a look on changed Oracle - I posted a SS on page 26 of this thread but you probably missed it.

And minor suggestion - could it be possible to divide (or somehow distinguish) "unique infrastructure" column in civilizations chart, so it will be obvious which ones are improvements, districts and buildings?

And great job btw, I use your site a lot!

That is quite expensive, but remember you only get 1 Spy at that point. Also, I think the 1 movement is referring to its ability to get transferred to cities, but I could be wrong. I never liked Spies on the map; too cluttered.
