Screenshot of the Day #132: Buggy Tribe

Possible answer to the mystery:

I'm not sure, but in the editor if you're creating the scenario and you set the active player to a specific barbarian tribe, and place several units throughout the map. And place a goody hut in which this tribe is the owner of it, I think they will give you a territory map of where all their units are. I think. Could be wrong, probably am. Only thing I could think of that would explain this.

In the post before yours the mystery is put aside as a glitch triggered by the fact that is was a very old save file. This with as much authority as any non-programmer can muster by the original maker of the screenshot.
It was still 4000 BC, no huts were popped yet and no units existed other the worker. Nice theory though.

Hmm... Thunderfall, it might be a good idea to add the target="_blank" in your links to the Sotds. It saves us from having to do a shift-click....
Did you have a look at the source code? Have you read the other posts? And, most interestingly, have you actually tried the link? If the image opens in the same window, you are using a browser which does not understand target attributes to A tags, or you have a popup killer installed which modifies your source code.
Anyway, welcome to CFC. We appreciate on-topic posts very much, no matter how critical. So if you have anything to say about the screenshot, please fire away!

On-topic:
@ivory: three coast tiles means your capital can grow three points bigger with a harbor, that 's significantly better in such circumstances. And you didn't know in advance how many coast tiles you would have access too, unless you had another freak map when you played the game.

I had the same thing happen to me last week (playing 1.29). I had dl'd someone's save game from either here or Apolyton. When I made the first move, I hit the space bar by accident instead of building (doh!). So I reloaded the autosave, and voila! I could see all the other Civ's starting positions! I hadn't seen it before, haven't seen it again, and I'm not sure what the thread or map was, so I guess I'm not really adding anything of significance to this entire discussion:rolleyes: . Pretty neat though! I did a fresh restart because it just didn't seem fair (stupid honorable conscience...)

The Buggy tribe was trying new teleportation magic.

POOF! They can teleport now... just they can't choose destination...
