Despite many suggestions, I never watched Game of Thrones.
Despite having seen plenty CK2 screenshots from Paradox thread, I also never played it.

Eddard Stark is a major character during this period before and during the books and TV show and he killed the character I was playing (of similar rank, if a different title) during a major battle in a rebellion against King Aerys the Mad (takes place before the books). I supported the King and we won this battle (!~40,000 vs 40,000) but I died :/ It was glorious though.

At least Ned's still alive, in my game as Tyran Lannister of Lannisport (and then his son), he died an incapable, Viserys is King, Tyrion is Lord of the Westerlands and above all, Cat is the Lady of Riverrun.
Then again, I netted my son a nice Dornish castle, and other parts of the family get the Kingsgate etc.

After a hard day's work of clearing one-car traffic jams and MEDEVACing injured llamas, the mayor of the city greets me with a hero's welcome before this whirlybird tramp moves on to the next city. (Unfortunately, he wanted it to remain topsecret, so he ruined the screenshot of it. Fortunately, I have gotten hold of an artist's rendition of the event!)

Open TTD, persistant multiplayer, discovering new addons and stuff - damn its addictive!
Theres the whole transportation, profit making side of things, but you also get to nurture towns and supply their needs until they grow into wonderful cities. And then terraform the surroundings and build a scenic steam railway through the forests and mountains.

Chris Sawyer was the main man behind Transport Tycoon as far as I know, probably the same engine? I never played Locomotion myself.

According to Wiki this was the successor to Transport Tycoon. I never played much Transport Tycoon or Rollercoaster Tycoon, but I played a lot of Locomotion and it was very good.
