So I've been playing Imperium Romanum a bit. Playing on the Alexandria map (because you don't have to worry about fires, riots or disease as well as having a constant supply of construction materials), I present the city of Alexandria! Population 300-ish, Chief exports: marble, oil, anti-Roman sentiment. These are from different points in time, taken as I went along.
First an image from the forum. This is part of the old city, in the sense that building placement here is purely for resources. In this area you can find the circus and philosopher's academy.
Next, the second part of the city to have been built - Colonia Lapidem. Originally a small marble quarry village it quickly grew to the largest part of the city, supplying olive oil, wine, and was the first part to be walled off.
The city Amphitheater was originally built outside of the walls of Colonia Lapidem, but quickly got its own urban congregation.
Originally built as a military fort, this part of the city forms the larger part of the marble and gold mining business. It also houses the armies that removed the barbarians from the area.
A tiny outpost outside of Colonia Lapidem.
a small colony for woodcutting, with an even smaller one down the road.
Originally I was going to build a large city part here, but the terrain was too steep for that. Instead I built a few tiny villages, and roleplayed that all barbarians where moved there. Meanwhile, the blob on the small peninsula is similar but built to accomodate hundreds of settlers. these areas are both not supplied with anything people actually need and as such are home to endless protests against me.
