Sengir03 - The Orwellian State

I like Nidaros only for the reason that it is coastal. Once we liberate that corn from NY it will have plenty of food plus enough hills.

I prefer Uppsala because it gives better synergy with the FP placement, also it will be a massive Beauro capital.

Norvin, its a 15 turn game isn't ?? Epic speed?? 5 more.

On capital, Nidaros or Uppsala, are the only 2 real choices. Uppsala for Bureaucracy capital, Nidaros for its production potential.

Uppsala, for the Korean lands, and Nidaros get the Heroic Epic, with the Current Capital (I forget which game I'm in) is just used as Super Science city.

Yes it's a 15 turn game, I only played 10 as I was in too bad a way to be able to play more at that time. Even writing a basic report was hard.

Looks good Norvin. You can indeed play five more, I won't be able to take it until monday/tuesday anyway.

Were the turns after starting up again, as no turns has been put into HE on the save. Without the forests the two cities come out with the same number of land hammers, Nippur has some forests, but we will need to get rid of them for irrigation, so they won't count so much, it can put down 3 watermills in the BFC so that'll count extra. So Nippur has the better potential for producing hammers on its own, thus lessening the need for the HE there at least until gunpowder units.
If we put it in either city though, team it up with the Maoi, for the introduction of a strong naval base for when we want to start building our floating fortresses.
Looking further down the line, Seoul looks like our best option for the Ironworks Westpoint combo, a strong production centre with amazing food boni, which is also a port, will be able to produce anything.

Nippur's where I settled the first GG if that makes a difference. I like Uppsala better for the capital. However, I have been suffering from Stupid In The Head all week, so take my advice with a handful of salt.

I never considered Nippur, same hills, settled great General probably swings it its way.

I just really considered the Ex-AI Capital as an excellent production base.

West Point could be put in Nidaros, freeing up Nippur for Heroic Epic and Moai Statues.

Though Seoul is looking good for Moai and West point, or maybe even Heroic Epic and West point.??

What's the combo people go for ?? do we factor in the settled Great General?? maybe 2 Settled Great Generals and West Point in another city, that's 2 military pumps.

Got it, will play tuesday probably, though if I don't report back in, please skip, as there's some family expansion on the horizon.

Hmm, some questions:
When are we going to attack anybody? Are we waiting for cannons? Or should I gear us up for a mace-war?

Where are we going to put OU? If we're going for a macewar, then we don't have to decide right away, as I won't be building Uni's in that case.

What are we going to do with the coming GS? Academy in Capital?

Me too. I'd go Wonsan and then Seoul. With a few spies and seige we will be able to take Wonsan down despite being on a hill. It is also allows us to declare and then attack the next turn.

We're not quite ready yet for war against WK, I'd take a few more turns build up before moving. I'd also micromanage a bit before hitting end turn also. AN example is Birka, I understand the reason why we were growing it, but if two farms are switched to two mines, the longbow goes from 67 turns to 10 with growth this turn. I would also put Birka back to catapult production. Looking at our military build-up we have 4 swords, 4 spears and 6 catapults, so we need maces and pikes before we can attack.

Up at the top of the post I said a few turns. I'd be more inclined to take a full turnset of complete build up before declaration.

That was intentional on my part to regrow as fast as possible (after whipping) and then switch to mines. I actually meant to "post" a reminder but forgot!

That's why I said there was reason behind it, but first thing I do when looking at a save I got off someone else is look at micromanagement opportunities. I feel it makes up for my patchiness in other areas.

My bad. I, like you, feel that the MM area of the game is my strong suit so sometimes I forget that not every player goes into every city on every turn!

No baby yet, but I'm going to need a skip (and be put on skip until further notice), because the days don't seem to have enough hours at the moment.
