Big Sister did not skimp on narrative in this update. Only treasonous followers of Goldstein could possibly consider this a bare bones report, written hurriedly because Big Sister has another SG turnset to play tomorrow.
t190 250AD - hire some scientists in Nippur because of unimproved tiles. Trade for CoL, Meditation, and Monotheism. Sell our surplus fish to Washington for a measly 2gp. Move troops around Haithbawhatever to block off hammer tiles. Move the GG to settle in Nippur since it's our best production city.
t191 265AD - *curses* didn't realize Borsippa was about to go unhappy. Will have to stack whip anger there. >.<
Whip a galley in Dur-Kur
t192 - swordsman event. Yay! Whip a courthouse in Borsippa.
t193 - sacrifice 2 chariots and 2 swordsmen to take Haith with 4 archers. The swordsmen were still wounded, but he still had population to whip more archers, so I figured I'd better move. Haithabu falls, and Ragnar is destroyed. Hurray!
t194 - construction is in. I set Nippur to making cats, and start on Calendar. And thanks to Wang gifting us a fort, we'll have silk online right away. Hehehe...
t195 - Sitting Bull demands tribute. I tell him to get bent.
t198 - d'oh! I let DurKur get unhappy again, so whip a courthouse.
t199 - and now Sitting bull is willing to trade us Fur. now I'm mad I whipped.
t204 - Calendar is in, and I'll stop early so we can discuss next tech.
Scoutboat reports:
Tech situation:
Demographics:
After Haithabu fell, I mostly focused on repairing our economy - getting courthouses online. Wasted worker turns cottaging a floodplain that isn't in any city's BFC, and screwed up on happiness in Borsippa and Dur-Kur.
Markets can be 2 pop whipped in Uppsala and 3 pop whipped in Babylon. Whip anger is about to expire in Nidaros, which will leave all but 3 cities free of it. We have excess happiness now because of the Fur trade, and Silk will be available in 2 or 3 turns, so we can grow a bit or whip more.
Korea continues to run away with tech, but someone else has the Great Library, so at least we don't have to worry about that.
Washington is way out-spending us in espionage.
Tech choices:
Work Civil Service or Feudalism until we've put enough bulbs in to trade for Calendar?
Compass for Harbors?
Metal Casting for Forges?
Literature for Heroic Epic?
Something else?
Great scientist is up in 6 turns. We don't have an academy yet, but bulbing Philo is tempting.
