I would have to agree with you on this one, Dis.

Nope, it's a tie. No adding votes.

Sorry, CT, but the vote is for some kind of punishment vs. no punishment. So the votes for higher penalty would be factored into the warning sentence, making it 14-10.

So you come away from all of this with one warning. That's not too bad if you ask me. :)

Actually, while the argument is sound, there is no stipulation in the rules that would allow us to count the votes in that manner. There is simply a tie between Warning and No Punishment in this poll and it falls to the current Judiciary to break the tie.

I will PM Octavian and Naervod to cast their votes on this issue immediately and will post the final verdict later today.

we are now at the poll interpretations again. please review also previous interpretation of "additive option" polls. in history we always interpreted "additive" polls that ways. any other way to interpret the poll is senseless.

I have spent far too many hours scouring the constitution, Code of Laws, Code of Standards and Judicial Review thread for anything that would provide for such an interpretation of these results, and I can find none. There are, however, very clear instructions in the CoS for what to do in the event of a tie.

This case has indeed been a difficult one for all of us. Both polls (verdict and sentencing) have closed in a tie, leaving the responsibility of both determining the guilt or innocence and consequently the degree of punishment up to the Judiciary.

In a 2-1 decision, the Judiciary hereby sentences Chieftess to a formal Warning for failure to adhere to the governor's posted instructions with respect to laborer allocation while acting as designated player during the first half of this term.

Those were described and specified in the polling standards thread but none of the items from there are specified rules. They are just instructions on how to actually run polls.

and about which interpretation of a poll makes sense and which not. the above interpretation of a poll posted like the sentencing polls does definitely not make sense. in the interpretation set above our sentencing poll would need to be multiple choice (for example i think warning and impeachment are good options, but not no-punishment and suspension, so i would check warning and impeachment), or only 2 options should be there (+ abstain).
